Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was on the field throwing passes during the portion of practice open to the media Wednesday, showing some effects of his sprained right knee but also looking further along than anticipated.

What won’t be known until later is how much Griffin actually practices and how many repetitions he takes during the full-team work.

Griffin, who suffered a Grade 1 sprain of his right lateral collateral ligament in Sunday’s 31-28 overtime win vs. Baltimore, was able to jog and even run a little bit. But he did not run at full speed. There was no noticeable limp when he ran. However, he also was not seen cutting and that’s usually the big factor in whether or not a runner will be able to play coming off a knee or ankle injury.

He did seem to plant gingerly on his right leg on some of his throws and still favored throwing more off his front leg than his back. All the throws required him to do nothing but turn and throw. But considering it’s Wednesday the fact that he was on the field and doing what he did must be an encouraging sign for the Redskins.

He makes plays... certainly better than Rex Grossman :bryan:

See, this the type of bullshyt I be talkin about :stopitslime:
For his career he's thrown 12 passes. Already has 2 int's
You know I hope he's better, but he hasn't done shyt impressive yet.

Against ATL, his first pass was that bomb to Santana Moss.
From there.. he played exactly like Grossman. And Grossman is capable of throwing TD passes.

Moving on to this threads topic... I been doing much research and this is what is goin on.

1.) Yes, he did practice today in a limited capacity

2.) Rob believes he'll play sunday

3.) The LCL sprain is a grade 1, and according to doctors. Out of all the CL's to sprain, this would be the best in terms of how much it affects a person, which is good news for DC fans

4.) This same doctor said he didn't see the chart himself, but as long as there is not structural damage? This type of injury is a day to day thing that could take up to around 3 weeks to fully heal. But it could be as quick as 1 week
BUT... if it were up to him, he'd probably sit Rob out this week because if the injury isn't fully healed and it gets touched? It could create FURTHER INJURY

I feel he'll play, we'll run the same offense. Rob will just be quicker to slide now
Then if we have a big enough lead in the 2nd half, we'll let Kirk finish the game off

Another popular scenario is to let Kirk start, and if he fukks up, then put Rob in to clean up the mess. I'm personally cool with either scenario
But I feel the first one will probably be the route the Redskins take
See you @ 1pm in Cleveland...

Let's cut the bullshyt. He's playing

Real Talk, its likely but not set in stone.
What they are doing is slowly easing him into it, then seeing how the knee responds
So come sunday, if he's still in pain.. if theres still swelling?
He'll be held out. Piere Garcon let it slip that he WASN'T gonna play
Redskins PR/etc then said that wasn't true. That it was undecided at this point (but why would he say that)
If they wasn't gonna use him, they don't want the browns to know this
Not that they have a bunch of film on cousins, but he did play in college and they could learn maybe some nuances he does?
Better to be safe than sorry, so they'll still keep them guessing

I think he'll play tho...

the idea of having Cousins start, and RG3 active for insurance is an intriguing idea. I would not mind that at all.

and yes, you are right about Cousins/Grossman. Grossman has proven he can play, albeit not well, the QB position in the NFL. Cousins has like 5 minutes of NFL action.

He's ruled out for today. I was dead wrong about this, I thought for sure he'd be playing w/ the Skins playing for the division
