Bathing regularly wasn't a thing until the post industrial era, read up on your history. Most places in the 12-15th century didn't have running water and everyone didn't live by the river. Water was too hard a resource to come by to use on bathing every day if you were a commoner. Why do you think most of those people didn't live past 40. Now if you were well off that's different.
