He made a business decision not to take anymore punishment. That's it. He was done. This talk of quitting is asinine because 1) we don't know how hurt he was and 2) we don't know exactly what he was thinking. His father later confirmed that he didn't want to take unnecessary punishment and he knew the fight was over. Time to let it go.

Say he quit 3 times without saying he quit brehs :mjlol:

That clown ryan is a sucker. He quit cuz he knew he was gonna get knocked spark out! Bloody dosser!

i can give you one specific example. ryan garcia does not hit a speed bag. i know that because in most the videos of his training he never hits it except rarely to goof around on it, but not actually hitting it. its difficult to learn how to get good on a speed bag. its not easy to do. but its easy to hit a cobra reflex bag. and all his videos are him on the cobra reflex bag. does that tell you something about ryan garcia?
That’s not true.

To be proficient at both, you have to dedicate a lot of time and patience.

To be proficient at both yes but the cobra bag got a little less learning curve especially for beginners. I think it’s quicker for people to look decent on the cobra bag than speed bag IMO.

Yeah but we aren't talking about beginners when we talk about Garcia. This is a professional boxer. I'll at least give him the credit he deserves here.

Plenty of exceptionally elite fighters aren't good at the speed bag. Spence is even on record as saying he sucks at it.

Taking a knee in that circumstance doesn't look ever good. But it's happened plenty time before, and will happen plenty time after. Linares is one of the great warriors of the last 25 years, he took a knee against Lomachenko.

Nobody could suggest Linares is a quitter.

i never knew that ryan garcia had a youtube channel watching some of the videos and the signs that ryan garcia was going to take a knee like that are just everywhere
Him having social media is literally the main reason he’s known. :dead:

i really believe in the jump rope and the speed bag. jump rope for your feet. speed bag for your hands. i believe its critical.

to build up a pace and keep your hands in a constant motion in a rhythm your mind and your body must be in a perfect sync. if you think slow then you will hit the bag slow, if that makes sense. ask yourself why the speed bag is the only bag people will find an excuse to not hit. they will hit every bag but the excuses come out for the speed bag.

Speed bag is cool, it's great for jab recoil and rhythm, but a floor to ceiling bag takes it to the cleaners.

If there's one bag that's better than all, it's floor to ceiling. There's no debate. The big rival ones, the small Winning ones, the double ones, they're exceptional for training timing, range, distance evaluation, speed, movement.

We can agree on the jump rope. You're talking to someone that will deconstruct ropes to take out the cable/rope, boil that cable/rope to make it straighter/bouncier, whittle the ends down, and then thread it into different handles.

I go through a dozen ropes a year. I take pride in outworking jump ropes. :russ:
