Revisiting the Sam Rami Spider-Man Films After All These Years

I realized that I haven't watched any of the Sami Rami Spider-Mans since Amazing Spider 2 dropped in 2014, which surprised me due to how much I loved the Sam Rami Spidey joints. 7 years is a long gap to rewatch something that I used to love. I stated to wonder if my love of those films were just pure nostalgia, so I decided to watch the Sami Rami trilogy again.
Not only are these films still good, but I was shocked as how well these films held up from a storytelling standpoint. Even after all of the progress the MCU has made in the comic-book movie genre, the Sami Rami flicks are still some of the best comic book films ever.
I'm not the only one who noticed how well these films held up. I was curious to see if I could find any old video reviews and I saw that there were others who decided to revisit these films. These video essays can convey my thoughts about the movies better than I can. Although long, they're worth definitely worth a watch.

I still think 1 is okay and think 2 is very dope. Even though I do not like Tobey in the lead role at all. And I think the movies do a disservice to Peter, Spider-Man, and MJ. But 2 is a quintessential Spider-Man story and it works on a larger scale beyond the normal comic book shyt.
3 loses its way even before the venom stuff and is just misconceived from jump. But it also makes all of its characters unlikable

I liked all the Raimi movies, 3 had a pretty lame take on the black suit and that dance scene was cringy. Villains were also pretty weak, but still a really good run. Agree they needed someone stronger than Tobey. He got exposed in #3. He's one of those one trick actors.

I still feel the third film exposed all the miscasts and errors so much. That part two is the only film that i can rewatch and not get highly angered about.
After living them fukking up spiderman in print.
To see the chickens come home to roost on film. From The same spreadsheet by numbers approach that killed spiderman in print. Plus mismanagement from inept decision makers with disconnect meddling.
Leading to a live action reboot of the spidey cgi cartoon with garfield.
To now eventually spidey being venom dominated.
to eventually and possibly being the main draw in the mcu. I am at the point of i told you so with anything spider man. That at this point,....
It would be better served for us to start speculating on who will become flash thompson.

who will play the cgi made symbiote big bad villain lead.

Spider-Man 2 is still a top 5 Marvel movie IMO. It had the human element and common man problems that a lot of other superhero movies just don't have. It's one of the reasons why I could care less about new Spidey.

Tobey Peter Parker is the softest loser I’ve ever in live action. Almost like dude had the opposite mutant powers of domino from Deadpool. Peter had super “bad luck powers” but yet puts a suit on and becomes spider man and all of a sudden can wall crawl and kiss bytches upside down on super super lover boy playa shyt…. fukk outta here. Parker was the worst part of that series.
