The thing with Connery's Bond was that he was Suave, Macho & Handsome, Charismatic, when they had Lazenby take over the role, they tried to go for a like for like replacement, but it didnt work, so when they went for Moore, Moore knew he couldnt compete so he bought comedic/wittier approach to the Bond character and because of his history of playin Spy's & action roles before, people knew who he was and wouldnt hate on him as much.
Dalton was always 2nd choice and only got the role because of Brosnan couldnt get out of his Remington Steele contract. Dalton tried to play too much of a tough guy role when really he should of used his stage experience and acted.

Apart from Road to Perdition, I cannot remember Craig being cast as a baddie. I think in the Lara Croft film he was a tweener.

casino royale was pretty piff how can you hate craig as bond, so i guess my theory about their being other agents who took on the codename bond might come to fruition, only thing though is they made On her majestys secret service (dope book and film mind you) where bond gets married and his wife gets shot up at the end, then in For Your Eyes Only (one of my favorites from the moore years he was killin dudes in that one) you see bond visiting his wifes grave

That rugged Eastern European look. I do think Fassbender would make an excellent Bond. It's just I thought the point of recasting Bond was to go in another direction. I guess this look is in though

I find it funny that you said they need to step it up with the Bond girls, because I feel Olga Kurylenko (bond girl from QoS) is absolutely gorgeous, and anyone who knows me knows I am hardly ever into white women.
