Game was good, some officiating hiccups on both sides of the ball. But none of the mistakes resulted in points for us like it did the packers.

Passing game has stepped up, and crabs isnt looking sideline first like he used to.

I think Alex and Harbaugh need to have more faith in Randy Moss, dude was open almost the entire time he was on the field.

I think the issue here is less of a trust that alex can get it to him accurately, then it is that moss is incapable of catching it.

I said in the game thread when we started inside of our own 10 (up 23-7) we should have took a shot downfield. In hindsight that was the right play because we didnt move the ball and the punt got returned for a TD, and after that we kinda broke up and the def bailed us out.

All in all I was happy with the play we played well 3/4 quarters.

I think we just need to keep feeding Moss in the RZ area dude will have the advantage each and every time ..Gore showing he still can bring it when he needs .. Waiting to see what Harbs does with LMJ when he's ready

It's hard to complain about our performance in this game, the only reason GB was even around was because of officiating lets be honest.

We dominated this game for the most part. look at the numbers. One bad bad bad call kept them around

I think the thing we can take away from this game is that our DB's are all around better this year, Perrish Cox, despite his errors and mistakes is a good pickup. Tarell Brown played pretty well and I think Culliver will continue to develop and maybe even be our #1 in a couple of years.

Our Offense has a scary amount of upside. Alex played conservative but still had about 220 years 2 TD's and was I believe 20/26. Our receivers had a lot opportunities, our offense in general seemed more scary in this 1st game. Crabtree played well, Manningham played well, Moss did his thing. We are down two RB's and still had a very effective ground game. We even have a good playmaker in Bruce Miller. I like how we are tailoring this offense to Alex's strengths, his ability to scramble, play action and he's been pretty accurate. If we can get a few deep balls out of him, we'll be so scary.

This is what I felt going into the game, no one notices how good the secondary can be, and it gets shyt on because we let up 300 yard games. That's because people can't run so all they do is pass every play.

I feel Culli could start elsewhere and T Brown might actually be better than Rogers or at least on his level. Parish is tremendous as your 4th corner.

This is by far the best 49ers defense I`ve been alive to enjoy.

brown beasted most of the game actually, besides a couple of fukkups on plays going to jones, he was money. I shed a tear at how much he came up

cox I thought played aight for first game back, that PI call was bs, he had couple of missed tackles. I still think he shines in pass coverage come later weeks. oh and great to see him already playing over brock.

rogers had a good game, arod stopped going at him after a few plays in.

loved fangio on the final drive seeing that no pressure shyt doesnt work and just sending the blitz at arod, trusting our secondary and linebackers. that sack was huge.

also loved fangio for not being scared to bench pat in order to go into nickel packages on quite a few passing downs. also salute pat for being cool with it, everything for a win.

overall, defense gets an easy A from me. shytting on GB at lambeau is tough and we managed to make arod look pedestrian for most of the game.

offense, oline was actually much better than I thought besides staley getting beasted by clay. with that said, it makes sense since we opted for short quick throws and very few times we tried long plays alex was just getting sacked.

alex played solid I thought. definitely didnt progress through reads much but he hit open guys and that TD to VD wasnt an easy throw, at least for him.

wideouts did their thing, crabs is looking great in the slot and moss collects defenders around him so they cant cheat as much towards the box. altho aj jenkins was active I dont think he actually played a snap on offense.

gb gave us the underneath stuff and couldnt stop the run game. that was its biggest downfall. you give alex room underneath and hell throw short ass passes/checkdowns all day long and run game will keep the opposing d honest.

also thought it EXTREMELY retarded how packers gameplanned. their run game was awful, they ran the ball 9 times on first downs between the tackles. didnt try a screen, the one screen they had went for 10+ yards.
seems like they didnt prepare for us, trying to play their own game. well, the game went our way

hopefully for next game we get jacobs lmj and ginn back. that opens up more possibilities for offense

15 of 20 of alexs completions were to wrs

And these are key things i think we progressed at over the past year.

Also, the screen is extremely difficult to run against us, we have arguably the fast defense in the league and they don't have a RB quick enough to make it a viable play, I mean Bruce Miller was faster than Cedric Benson. Speaking of Bruce Miller, dude is a scary offensive weapon, he blocks like a freight train and can move the sticks as well.

screens arent hard to run against us. its not about the speed, its about the blocking and the scheme. our olbs just dont close down the outside fast enough, and ILbs can get blocked ,even though theyre extremely good at shedding them.

screens and outside runs are pretty much the only way teams been able to "run" at us for the last two years. roy helu, jahvid best...they did their damage on receptions and outside runs

Yea but even teams that are good screen runners like the Eagles, stopped using it last year. There has to be something in our film that keeps teams from trying it.

saints kept on doing it successfully in the playoffs

also, kinda shameless pat on my own back but I found this in an old post of mine 3 years ago:

The Black Jesus walketh to the Western Coast: Titans vs. 49ers game thread - ProjectCOVO.com Global Forum

justin smith has been a beast. one of the best FA pickups we ever made in the last 5 years or even more

still true to this day :whew: thats my right defensive end/defensive tackle :to:
