That Rock tweet wasn't "etherous", it was simply true and would apply to most wrestlers not named Austin or Hogan. He's THE ROCK. All this talk about drawing and money on this forum, and not just about Rocky... nobody but Rocky, his family, and crew/coworkers are seeing that cash. The fact is his WM buildup and match were pure shyt. Even reddit doesn't make a big deal about ratings, draws, or who brings in the most money. TSC is better than that.

Well, that's the whole point of pro wrestling: the buildup, storylines, and matches. Tell me, what do you watch for? What other reasons are there to watch?
I understand his gripe, the champion should always close out WM. If Rock vs Hogan, ICON vs ICON, didn't close out WM18, no other non-title match should.

I dont see the forum really doing that except R=G. He lives for that stuff and thats cool for him. Thats his thing.

Proving a lot of the stuff that was scripted about him being a whiny brat, true. I like the guy but he pretty much confirmed alot of things about him. Hell, even stuff that Cena, and HHH threw at him during their feuds as well. They all ended up being the winners here.
Also, I dont think it needs to be that the champion should be closing out mania every time. The biggest match of the night should be the main event. Rock/Hogan SHOULD have closed Mania and thats been the general consensus for years. Just like Taker/HBK. It drains the crowds because they had seen the most hyped match already. They got it right with Rock/Cena 1.
HHH/Jericho and HHH/Orton suffered because of this. There is always an exception to the rule. The champ closing out Mania does not ALWAYS have to be the standard. Punks logic here was flawed.
In fact, in a 2012 radio interview, he admitted that he was off about that whole thing anyway. Because when the subject came up if Austin should have a main event spot at Mania should he return, he was quick to say he absolutely should. And would then go on and say Rock shouldn't come back for anything less than a main event spot as well.

Agreed. Even for the smaller PPVs, like that TLC a couple of months ago with that insane Kalisto/Uso spot. I even enjoyed the buildup and match to Cena/Rock I over Y2J/Punk that year. I feel the complete opposite for Cena/Rock II and Taker/Punk the following year. The match that gets the crowd the hypest SHOULD close, but Vince is an idiot and you gotta wonder why they made an exception the year Punk was champ.
The WM18 main event might as well have been HHH vs Stephanie. It was just the the Cena/Miz ME where champion Miz was the third wheel to Cena and Rocky.

Taker vs Michaels did close and was the main event. Didn't make record money which is why they ran back to Rock for the next 3 years to save them from looking mediocre and Bush league compared to some stupid feud between Nash and Punk sending texts to each other like 2nd graders.

The reason why Rock and Cena 2 headlined over Punk is because he was very over but never filled an arena that big in his entire life. He talks big..doesn't back anything up. Never has. That's why he's disgruntled and finished in 2016 well before he should have.

As far as the topic goes, the fact people are hating on Phil a) 2 years after he quit b) 3 years after that match with the Rock and 3) nearly 5 years since he called Dwayne an asskisser goes to show how great he was at baiting marks and working them into a frenzy.
If ratings/drawing power are all that matters to @R=G, you should be one of his GOATs for your WCW run instead of being shat on. You didn't have to resort to toilet humor to get over and actually ethered Punk with your promo
