I remember when I was a kid and I saved up 6 or 7 bucks and I bought a dmx cassette and I thought it was the album but it was the single for stop being greedy or get at me I was tight but I played that shyt out. Then I got happy af because my cousin owned the CD and he let me hold that shyt

You know breh I believe the story. Cause DMX was just like a regular dude.

Years ago in the early 2000s in chicago my little cousin that went to the neighborhood elementary school (he was an 8th grader) by my parents house was talking to me one day. Well he tells me he and his classmates had seen X in the park playing with remote control cars. I laughed the shyt off thinking he is lying.

Then one day I am walking by the same park and what do I see X literally playing with remote control cars in the park with some folks from his crew and kids in the neighborhood. I mean the little kids had him surrounded. It had to have been about 50 kids out there just in awe that X is like playing out there with some of them.

It was like some of the most unique shyt I had seen with a famous person out there with kids and no camera without a care in the world.

Supposedly he would go out there twice a week and just play with his remote control cars or feed the pigeons and squirrels.

Come to find out X had rented a house for like 3 months like 5 blocks from my parents home in the Lincoln Park area. Anyone who knows this area knows it is yuppie ville (which may be the reason he and his crew rented a home out there) very few of the adults knew who he was (but their kids sure did). There were rumors he was out there at the time recording with twista and kelly at Kelly's studio.

this why it hurts so much

DMX was so transparent in his suffering and struggles, life experiencing and trying to overcome them, while still having hope through his tribulations. This is life & spiritually. And I think that speaks for the human experience. And why i respected him so much and his loss is impactful because he was completely authentic. He gave millions to connect with through his story.

He shouldn’t never had to gone through things he endured. The world didn’t deserve a soul like DMX.

X seemed like the type of kat you grew up with but he just so happened to be famous. His fame didn't change really who he was for better or worse.
