Man...
I think there are some people who truly pass on as soon as they do everything they are meant to do, and make all the amends that are to be made. My father once told me about a friend of his who did all the wrong things his whole life and hit rock bottom... but he got himself clean and helped others and reconciled with his family and his kids, and then out of nowhere he just died. With Warrior, it's not that he did wrong but he spent so many years vilified and considered a joke, and he always held equal contempt with so many people in the industry. And yet, this past week was his contribution to the business being fully appreciated and him burying the issues he had with others. Honored with the DVD set (first-day cop for me), honored with the HOF, appearing at WrestleMania, and even being the only one of the Class to have a segment on Raw... and then out of nowhere, he dies. If he knew or it's all terrible coincidence, not for nothing, he probably had the best week of his life in a long time right before he went. When I first started watching wrestling in late-'87, he was just coming in to the WWF and was one of the first I saw and became a fan of. Def. another part of my childhood gone... r.i.p. Warrior.
