This a few weeks back from Wayno's podcast but he talks about first hearing DMX on "nikkas Done Started Something" on a mixtape in 1995 and him seeing DMX all the time in Harlem at his man's shop playing unheard songs for everybody on the block just to get their reaction. Starts talking about X around the 35-36 min mark.

By the way earlier in this thread when DMX was first hospitalized one or two of y’all said his father died recently and maybe it contributed to him relapsing. We ran with it and didn’t say nothing but where did y’all even get that info

From what I’ve seen his dad Joe Barker is a Philly street artist and is still around and I haven’t found any stories of him dying.

Same eyes as DMX I see the facial resemblance right away

in this link above someone two years ago alluded to him being DMX father

And this is a video from last year when Philly news was interviewing some local street artists including Joe Barker who is allegedly X father. He was the one who pretty much had most of his back turned to the camera

I recall reading X even mention I think maybe the Vanity Fair interview when asked about his father how he knows who he is and where he is but has no interest in him or anything like that.

There was a clip from the Street DVD era of X when he was first released from jail.. He was going to the hood, He had a hair full of hair but son was WILDING.. He was on Funk Flex show talking shyt about K Solo and said he'll duff that nikka out :mjlol: He really hated that nikka

Then he went ahead and freestyled/did his verse from Spellbound to prove he was the originator.. Dude was on one on that shyt... If anybody can find it. Ill dap like a muthafukka

"What These bytches Want" is a beautiful song. Everything about it is perfect. But I feel like I'm still not getting it.

Was DMX just being like :hhh: towards women that were interested in him because he was famous, or was he warning women not to get involved with him because he knows what he'll end up doing to them? I feel like there's another message in there.
