For the last 7 days, I just have been hoping for the best. X is a bona fide Legend and one of the greatest Rappers of All Time. X had one of the best Rap Voices ever. He was a true MC that could rock any crowd. A Master of Ceremonies. He was also an amazing storytelling lyrically and could paint vivid pictures. Let's not get into those wild adlibs that could get you hype at any moment. The initial reports didn't sound good last week but you always hope for the best. X has NEVER left rotation but I'll be celebrating his Legacy. He will always have special memories for me because of High School. Earl you made your mark on History. You will never be forgotten. X Forever. I always liked this track because he went and got Stephanie Mills to sing the hook from her song instead of using her voice for a sample. Peace Earl and Thank You. Rest in Glory.

A big part of my elementary and high school memories. :mjcry: Getting IDAHIH cassette from my friend in grade 8 (who actually looked like DMX too) - played it nonstop :mjcry:

Rest easy X. You're in a better place now.

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague cuz I was wasn't ready to believe that he wouldn't make it :to:

I'm deeply saddened by this.... Condolences to his family.

Forever DMX

When they said the brain was without oxygen for 30 mins it was all but a wrap

Tried to mentally prepare myself for this atleast the past year.

I remember in 98’ I was about 6 years old & my T.Lady copped me both his albums he dropped that year (clean version) & I was a fan ever since .

X is top 5 and should be respected as such, he is one of the greatest story tellers in Rap History and was able to transition Hip Hop back to the streets after the Death of Pac/BIG .

I’m not gon disrespect him, and call him the “East Coast 2Pac” because X sound was waaaaaaay more advanced than your typical East coast rapper......

Rest In Peace X, same ol shyt Dog just a different day
