X's wife and kids love(d) him for sure. If he believed in himself and the people who truly loved him (not the enabling maggot "homies" around him) he wouldn't have needed fake ass smallminded religion. Find yourself, find inner peace, apologize to the people you hurt, come to terms with everyone and everything that's important in your life, realize drugs are poison and destroy your life and the lives around you, meditate and seek professional help if needed, that's what matters. Not wasting time on prayers and invisible figures in the sky

bruh, this aint the got damn time or place for this :camby:

Was just listening to the uncensored version of Slippin and it occurred to me once the third verse started that while the curse words aren’t edited out they still chose to censor one part of the song, and it made me wonder if maybe things would have been different if the people around him were more concerned about him getting the help he needed and less concerned about the public finding out about what kind of addiction he struggled with. If that stigma and shame wasn't associated with his open secret and he was able to talk about it openly maybe he would have felt comfortable or confident enough to seek treatment earlier in his career. When you look at that song it’s his most open and personal song he had released at that point and the line that really gives insight to the causation of the chaos that he would become mixed up in is censored smh. And if you track it throughout the rest of his career it’s always been this known secret that’s kinda whispered about but never directly addressed and he never really sought professional help for that particular demon until it was mandated by the courts. I dunno, I guess I’m just “what iffing” and shyt but the line and it remaining censored on the explicit version just had me thinking about that.

3:18

Never noticed that. Slippin prolly my favorite X song. One of the reasons why I loved B.G.’s music so much is because he was pretty upfront about his struggles with dope. And he was a teenager at the time. I always found that to be pretty brave given how judgmental people are in this culture.

Regardless of what happens, I hope this brings more support to those who most need it. Whether it’s a celeb we all know or someone down the street from us.

Not to start any shyt on here but I can’t believe how after everything that’s happened in his life he still believed in god and all that and now this has happened people are praying and all that shyt like it’s gonna help. Even if god was real, he supposedly let this happen so why would he make a miracle and being X back like nothing happened? Like X hasn’t had enough bullshyt to deal with his entire life, god had to “test” him one more time? Bullshyt. Mods delete this post if you need to but god freaks don’t come at me with any bullshyt I just had to say it.

Believing in a higher power seems to give troubled ppl a level of peace. Wish I had it

God don’t get involved in life we got free will. X chose to do the drugs who’s to say god hasn’t saved him many times before.

God gives you free will, yes some people have harder lives than others. DMX also lived a great life. Unfortunately when you're called to come home it's not dying peacefully in your sleep. If you look back at the versuz and hear the things Snoop was saying to him and all the positive things the fans said after it, some people would say that was God showing him that he was genuinely loved and made an impact on people's lives.

He lived a hard life with enjoyable times/moments. Has nothing to do with an invisible man in the sky created by humans thousands of years ago to keep em from killing each other. Man I wish the US educational system would seriously improve

I read what you said. You could be an anthiest. I don't know. I believe in God very differently. Especially from the common popular "why didn't God Save him?" Argument.

Fact is DMX was heavily blessed - performing in front of a crowd at Woodstock much bigger that Christ saw in his life - but Dmx saw it in his life is nothing short of a blessing.

To me at 39 God revolves around love, vision, work, moments, blessings, small and major. I'm all for God, straight up!
Bless.

SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER GET IT

What you gotta understand is for a lot of people who have been dealt that shyt hand at life, believing in god is about feeling as though someone loves them. That unconditional love that is supposed to come from a parent. When you live believing that no one in the world loves you, you feel like you aren’t worth anything. So people “find god” because no matter what they do, right or wrong, no matter what they have been through” no matter how hard they fall, “god loves them”. God is their “father”. He will always be there when no one else will.

it’s a coping mechanism for life’s bullshyt.

NO ITS NOT BUT OK

That's your belief, don't shyt on others because they don't agree with you.

He can't definitively prove their isn't a "God" and he can't definitively prove there is a "God". His definition of "God" and beliefs probably differ from his definition of "God" and beliefs. His disbeliefs and "morals" probably don't align perfectly with his disbeliefs and "morals". I guess we are at a stand still.

Social media weird as shyt. People really fallin over themselves rushing to say RIP. I mean, I get that it’s prolly inevitable now but it’s still weird as fukk to me that people so thirsty for likes that they gotta rush to be the bearers of bad news. As much as people have been judging and chiding X for his addictions all of us stuck on our phones and hooked to scrolling our screens up and down for nonstop stimulation are no different.

@KingSol81 what did he say in the censored uncensored part? Was it ever released?

Kind of like it says...how that rock got em...

Don't quote me on that, but is there a complete version?

Yeah, its interesting cause you can find 30 different live performances of Slippin and not a single one he does the 3rd verse, its only completely uncensored on the advance copy of the album and a re-recorded version of the song 3:16
