I think it’s more of the story he had to work with. And the fact that the character has been in high school the whole time. There’s only so much you can do under those circumstances.

Nope spider man has swag in the cartoons and comics even the miles Morales movie spiderman energy was entertaining. Tom is dull as fukk and not the least bit charming

Except in the comics when he was a teenager in high school and later college he was able to hold his own against the likes of Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Sandman, etc. MCU Spider-Man still overly relying on others for help.

Andrew Garfield was an alright Peter Parker but was the best Spider-Man imo, the constant quips, the attitude, the ease with which he did his spider-thing.

That's usually par for course for every Spider-man movie. I think the only movie where Spider-man/Peter outshined everyone (or maybe I should say stuck out) was in Spider-man 3 and it wasn't for good reasons either. Although it's funny to see that performance become a meme darling for the internet in recent years.
