Those resident evil movies got wayyyyy outta hand. It's like they lost control of them and they just kept getting crazier and crazier.

They need to make this shyt simple. The main character doesn't even have to be Jill or Chris for the first one. It can be some random helpless person trapped in a creepy small town and then wonders in the mansion.

Scrap all that cheesy action shyt. I don't wanna see nobody with two pistols and they do the double reload shyt, no sliding on the floor while shooting, no flipping off the walls, none of that bullshyt.

One of the franchises that needs a reboot. The original somehow managed to keep the late 90s/early 00s cheap action film aesthetic all the way into 2016 :stopitslime:

They must be making so much money off these films that it would be foolish to stop.

Too bad they are fukking TERRIBLE. What part was it that Nemesis himself was actually helping towards the cause because he remembered his "humanity"? I could not believe WTF I was watching and never bothered with that franchise again.

Maaaayne, I've never been one to complain about Alice or the fact that these mostly had nothing to do with the games...it's whatever. That was resolved back in 2002 or whenever it was the first came out.

But...

If they don't focus at least one of these new joints exclusively on a haunted house filmed with zombies, zombie dogs, traps, and hidden passages.....I'ma feel let down.

It's time to give us ONE attempt at something approximating the atmosphere of the early games.

Are any of the movies worth watching?

Honestly, they probably aren't worth viewing if you're an adult trying to watch them for the first time. They simply aren't sophisticated in any real way, my memory of them is that of a high-school/college stoner but I still remember how mundane they were.

Nevertheless...:yeshrug:

A lot of people like the first, as has already been mentioned. This one actually seems to have gotten more appreciated over the years. I think that after people got over "it's not like the games" more were willing to appreciate it as a pretty unique underground bunker/zombie movie.

^ It's silly now, but back in HS, me and my friends were :ooh:at this scene....

I actually think that the second and third aren't too bad.

The second is just silly campy fun..it's the one the follows the videogames the closest (It's a *pretty* close approximation of RE2 and RE3:Nemesis) and it introduced some new characters like Jill Valentine from the games and Mike Epps (I will never remember his characters name). There's a legit boss fight at the end....

RE3 functions as a pretty interesting Post-Zombie Apocalypse/Road-Movie. The first half in particularly isn't a bad take on say, Mad Max meets The Walking Dead. Cool setting, and a couple of pretty fun action sequences.

I actually never saw any of the other ones...:manny: Although I liked these three enough, they weren't good enough to warrant any more investment in the franchise.

Yes all of them

There's no way I'm watching all of them. I'll check out the first 2 this weekend. Most people have been saying those were the only decent ones.

The first had some good moments. The second was super cheesy but at least it stayed consistent with the story. After that it just totally went off the rails. By the final movie it was throwing the lore and storylines the previous films had established in the bushes and important events were occurring chronologically between films that aren't explained and characters are both thrown into movies with no explanation and left out of following films for no reason.
