Oh ok. I don't expect this RE2 to be a "remake" either. Seems to me they will just update the graphics and probably change the controls.

:dwillhuh: The REmake on GC was an actual remake. Then it was ported to Wii U, PS4 etc.

I doubt they will leave it at the graphics, they re-designed an awful lot of the game design in the REmake...for the better.

The developers also added new areas for the player to explore, changed most of the puzzle designs, and included a new control scheme called Type C where players move their characters by pressing the R button of the GameCube controller and steer them with the analog stick.[4][18] Another addition is the subplot involving the character Lisa Trevor, which was cut from the original game.[19] Instead of using adjectives to describe difficulty levels, Mikami deliberately decided to have unique questions so that the player would pick the hard one.[9]

Alyson Court Confirms: Not Reprising Claire For Resident Evil 2 Remake

Clairealyson-e1497299410684.jpg

Well, this is a shame – but news that’s been expected somewhat.

Alyson Court, the iconic voice of Resident Evil‘s Claire Redfield in all but one of her appearances, confirmed via YouTube today that she will not be reprising the character for the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Announced about two years ago, fans have been eagerly anticipating the remake as RE2 is often cited as being one of the best games in the series, and the one other true remake (Resident Evil 2002, or REmake as fans call it) is equally beloved. One of the concerns fans had, however, was the voice cast. Resident Evil is kind of all over the place with the actors who have portrayed their heroes and villains – even the most popular voices like Roger Craig Smith (Chris Redfield), Paul Mercier (Leon Kennedy), and Sally Cahill (Ada Wong), have all been replaced over the years, and even then some of our favorite voices are replacements of others themselves (D.C. Douglas took over Albert Wesker from Richard Waugh, etc).

Claire, however, managed to stay consistently Alyson Court for nearly every single one of the characters’ appearances, until 2016’s Resident Evil: Revelations 2. It looks like this is going to carry on into REmake 2, as Alyson Court explains in a video update. Capcom did contact her early on in production, acknowledging the fan outcry for her return, but eventually the 3rd party localization team handling the game chose to go non-union, meaning that Alyson cannot reprise the role without breaking union. It’s a huge shame, but like I said, not unexpected.

Actors have to be careful working with their unions, and while some do break union and work under pseudonyms (worth noting that Claire’s Revelations 2 voice is provided by ‘James Baker’ … uh), not every actor can take that risk, or is willing to break union for a paycheck. You can watch her full explanation below.

Actually...now that I think on this...I'm wondering if with their current track record of run and gun gameplay with near limitless ammo compared to back in the day when this game came out and you had to be frugal with your bullets...I wonder which route they'll take? Hopefully not the latter. I remember people whinging about running out of bullets in RE games to the point where they introduced the bullet creation system in 3 and then started giving you more and more as the series progressed. I really hope they harken back to the days of old when making this.
It can do both. That's what difficulty settings are for to facilitate desired playtype.

Lesser bullet drops/red herbs at higher difficulty levels, I guess. :yeshrug:
I just hope they put the same reverence into this like they did the GC remake 'cause THAT was done with the love and consideration needed to bring a classic back for a new audience. Gonna be a bit weird aiming horizontally in Rac00n City, though.:lolbron:

So Rely on horror brought to us some leaks about the highly anticipated title Resident Evil REmake 2 , I will summarize what they said in the article

  • The game will run on an improved and significantly optimized RE Engine with an impressive revamped lighting and shadow system
  • The game will be aiming for a solid 30fps at 1080p on a standard PS4 and 60fps at native 4k on a PS4 Pro. The engine loads different resolutions each time you enter a room
  • The game will be the first Resident Evil title designed with a 4k resolution in mind , Meaning that the assets will be in Native 4K resolution
  • They believe that the game will be the best looking Capcom game so far and has the potential to seriously compete with games like God of War in terms of visuals
  • The game's Camera will be an OTS View akin to Resident Evil 4 in mind but a bit “stylized” in execution , So I guess we will have to wait and see the game's first reveal to see what does " Stylized OTS Camera " means in motion
  • It will use a photogrammetry scanning Technology just like RE7 , Noting that Capcom Took note of Fan's confusion over Chris's new model in RE7 so that made them do more effort while modeling RE2 Character
  • Claire will have a different outfit while retaining some similarities
  • Capcom had brought in in outside contractors who had worked on the series previously, including people who worked on Resident Evil 2 and 4
  • The game will include campaigns for both Leon and Claire, but the game will overall be much longer than the original with lots of new content and areas.
  • The game will keep its horror focus and classic Resident Evil design elements intact
