Capcom: 'Resident Evil 2 will be a full from the ground up remake NOT a remaster'
Capcom has confirmed the new Resident Evil 2 will be a "from the ground up remake" and not a remaster.

That’s according to UK senior marketing director Stuart Turner, who took to Twitter to clarify some confusion surrounding the title

As it needs to be. RE 2 was the best Resident Evil experience in my opinion (fukk, everyone else who played the majority of the series shares this too!) if you never got knee deep into the first one. Rac00n City police station...in high def without the tank controls? :krs:

Actually...now that I think on this...I'm wondering if with their current track record of run and gun gameplay with near limitless ammo compared to back in the day when this game came out and you had to be frugal with your bullets...I wonder which route they'll take? Hopefully not the latter. I remember people whinging about running out of bullets in RE games to the point where they introduced the bullet creation system in 3 and then started giving you more and more as the series progressed. I really hope they harken back to the days of old when making this.

I've only played up to 5.
I've got 6 in the plastic still, Rac00n city just to see why it's so bad and I plan on getting Revelations in the near future (I think I got one of the 'episodes' for free last month?) Why do you ask? How is it compared to the others?

Because I've been really enjoying it. It's split screen co-op so I play it with my wife. It has a much slower pace than recent RE games and the setting is more horror based than recent games too. What I don't like about it is that a lot of times you get lost and the game does little to tell you what to do next, which is definitely a reminder of the old RE days, but it's something I think we should move on from. Revelations can be found for pretty cheap now and if your a fan of the series you should definitely check it out.

RE6 was a very polarizing game for the RE fans. Personally I loved it. Gameplay wise it was incredible, but the RE fans crucified it for not being a "Real RE game". There's NOTHING survival horror about it. You'll be running as fast as gears of war, hiding behind cover, with a ridiculous amount of ammo and health at your disposal, jumping over obstacles, sliding on the floor and turning onto your back mid slide to shoot zombies that are chasing you. Its a blast to play, but it isn't traditional resident evil. It also has co-op which made it more fun, and it has 3 or 4 separate campaigns. The story is absurd though. Overall fun, just don't go into it taking it too seriously as an RE fan.

I hope a RE2 remake will be more like Revelations than RE6.

ive only played 2 and 5. 2 was amazing, though i hardly remember shyt except that fukking alligator. its been damn near 20 years since ive played that game. fukk im getting old :mjcry:

20 years? I remember I had 2 and then I went out and got the Dual shock version in Highschool. fukk feeling :flabbynsick:, I'm straight.
Also, try and cop 4 if you can. While I didn't have as much of a problem with 5 as alot of people had, it didn't live up to what people grew to love with 4 when that launched and switched things up with the over the shoulder camera, expanded briefcase and aiming :whew:. Story was better too in my opinion despite both 4/5 saddling you with AI characters that did some dumb shyt. (HERE! I PICKED UP THESE MINES YOU LAID DOWN FOR YOU!:what:Sheva WTF?)

I plan on playing both 6 and Revelations with my bro sometime early next year if not this Christmas...if we get around to doing anything else but playing Dynamite cop/Jet Grind Radio/Shenmue and Powerstone :ohlawd:. I'm familar with the backlash that was Resident evil 6 with the three different modes, that were all over the place in terms of gameplay mechanics. I played a wee bit of the demo and I personally felt (From what little I played :lupe:) that Leon's and Chris' campaigns were made different (There was a third player, right? Can't remember or prolly didn't get to use them in the demo) because they were both on different battlefronts with whatever version of the virus they were dealing with no and with Chris being in that offbrand army shyt, it was an insight into the shyt he was dealing with during the timeline instead of just reading about it through files and character dialogue or having to play it as standalone DLC like they did with RE 5. Gears of war rip off or not, it was something new but I don't know how well it went but I'll find out soon enough.

And I still laugh at people who cry about Resident Evil not being 'Survival Horror' when it was a piss poor example of such when compared to actual games in that genre such as Alone in the Dark and early super Creepy Silent Hill and Clock Tower games.:dahell:
