Is twitter / reddit not an option to get early information that will eventually be posted here shortly after ? We really need a video game forum filled with reasonable people who mostly just want to talk games and aren't constantly trying to push agendas. The problem is that most reasonable people have lives outside of video games and aren't sitting around looking for news to repost. That's probably why a Resetera replacement filled with normal people hasn't been made yet.

I actually think discussion in game specific threads is usually really good. There's only so many games active at any given time though so the board gets cluttered with trolling and people bullshytting. To be honest, there wouldn't be enough to discuss otherwise.console war bullshyt handicapped this forum and the mods don't want to do anything about it

I just wish there was a r/truegaming equivalent on here with strict rules, discussions can get annoying, whenever someone tries to talk about games past a surface level you get accusations of being pretentious or 'it's not that serious'. Plus the near constant dikkriding of AAA blockbuster games while simultaneously complaining that there isn't enough artistic and developmental representation, as if that's where you're going to foster Black involvement in video games. If someone starts a thread about a specific topic and makes an effort, you'll get 30 replies of 'that game is good, stop complaining' 'console wars' or 'lmao it's not that deep'.

I think that's the issue with most spaces in gaming. I think if there's any criticism people take it to heart and it becomes a console war. Anyways, I think the issue with spaces in gaming is most aren't mature enough to have healthy discussions. I think Reset Era initially tried to do that, but we all saw what happened.
