We was kinda clowning Miles in Miles Morales for not using any NY slang, then some one posted the insomniac dev team and there may have been 1 black person :ohhh

Like alot of us be wanting representation in gaming, then you finally get it, and its like a monkey paw wish because yea you got a minority face in the game/movie/ tv show but its mostly white people writing the character so its really a crapshoot as to what youll get (See Fin in star wars as a big example).

Thats why you gotta be mindful of the liberal white folks too. They be on some all inclusive shyt but as long as the hierarchy remains intact

Lev was a trans-misery porn character
The character and his story arc was basically used as a basis
For Abby to be the white savior
Character had no agency
Backstory was just thrown together
He had to kill his mom
Watched his sister suffer in agony

Furthermore, Abby was purely used as a juxtaposition to Ellie
Who by the way became a whole a$$hole out of thin air
Nothing she did was in character of what the fans fell in love with her for
Joel was purely plotkoi to push a lazy, bullshyt narrative of REveNGe Is BaD
Jesse was a likable character killed for no reason
Tommy making a complete 180
From being the voice of reason to revenge filled mentor
Two pregnant women
One going on a ride through war torn streets
The other smoking weed
Da fukk
I hate how people label somebody that disagrees or points out the insanity and hypocrisy as alt right

But since people think TLOU2 is game of the year
And they rather play “art/sociopolitical” games

This energy better be kept when the next protagonist character is black

Yup, I know spiderman gets a lot of praise around here but honestly I was kinda put off by how spiderman was like an extension of the NYPD in the first game. Then Miles gets his own game, buts it’s only a spinoff and the mother gets a white makeover. Same like you said for Fin. They are shoehorning these black characters into media, but it’s always from a distant, kinda tertiary perspective.

Same way Cyberpunk has purposely included lgbt stuff, but all of it is kinda tongue cheek/edgy stuff that appeals to how young straight cac males view the world.

I remember when Ass Creed Origins was revealed there was some pretty funny posts in the thread for it. You go over there and post something about Yosef Ben Jochannan or other black scholars pertaining to black history and that white liberal will be dancing hot potato trying to disagree with you in the name of "inconclusive" science. I remember one cac over there was like "Whew, nice to know that this is settled" when it came to some misleading scientific paper about the DNA of Ancient Egyptians I'll try to find it. They're just as intolerant as they claim their foes are.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that we spoke with Black Chamber again today and there are going to be some changes with how the OT is handled.

1. First of all, right after the thread is posted, Black Chamber will be taking a one month ban to acknowledge the role that his communication (and lack thereof) played in things escalating as far as they have. I want to make it clear that the staff did not propose this; Black Chamber himself wants to serve this ban to show that he's serious about being sorry and about wanting to support the trans community. Vestan has also asked to extend his ban to a month for the same reason.

2. The first post in the OT will be dedicated to the controversy and trans issues. The staff will coordinate with the creators on this. Other OT content will come in subsequent posts, and will include a separate acknowledgment of the transphobia controversy; this will be regularly updated to highlight any transphobic content found in the game.

3. In addition to a thread reply banner laying out strict rules for posting in the thread, Black Chamber and Vestan suggested that the aforementioned first post in the OT also be pinned to the top of every page of the thread to ensure it cannot be missed. We have the technology and this will be done.

I want to emphasize that Black Chamber and Vestan have been completely cooperative, even proactive, in wanting to support the trans community whenever we've spoken with them. They're not good at communicating publicly under pressure, but we do believe their hearts are in the right place, and hopefully these actions will help show it.

Just ban discussion of the game at this point. You not doing shyt with these half-ass measures
