I dunno if Darren Aronofsky got some dark shyt in his past no one knows about, or if his life is one of those cases where shyt was just so safe and easy that he had to embrace the darkness to find anything stimulating.

Dude makes one flick after another where I'm thinking, "Ah, nah, hell no man, that really wasn't necessary."
Have you seen The Fountain? Not dark but sad as hell.

I'll pretty much watch any Darren Aronofsky film.

Loved or liked Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan, The Fighter.

I couldn't get past 30 minutes of Noah. Haven't seen his 2002 film Below or anything after Noah though.

Honestly Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain probably in my top 20 films list. One of them probably top 10, depends on the mood I'm in when I make the list.

Great film......a few days later I was chatting about it and someone recommended I watch Irreversible.....

that was quite a week

:sadcam:

:damn:

:picard: Jesus.... in the same week? I can only watch 1 a year. Haven’t seen requiem in a while, that movie was good but it cut deep. Made me feel almost uncomfortable.

Irreversible is genius god tier filmmaking

One of the athletic teams at my alma mater used to walk out to the field to this song. Thought it was weird as hell but I didn't complain because I love the song. Put a violin or similar type instrument in a song and I'll give it a listen for sure.
One of the goat lil jon tracks and he hardly ever sampled but guess he heard that score and was like

My favorite movie of all time.

Saw it a year or two after it came out and like others said, it disturbed and shook me to my core, and that feeling still resonates to this day.

I'd highly recommend anyone who enjoyed the movie to read the book too.

I saw this over the holidays for my first and only time.

I was so grossed out and disturbed. Mans arm being black. The mom losing her mind. Ol girl descending into a complete junkie whore, and my man Keith David being her pimp. "Its not gonna suck itself" :dead:

youngin thinking he about to step up and be a big time dealer, only for the entire crew to get popped in front of him.

Disturbed movie.
flick let me know marlon is an underachiever*
agree with this completely.
