:manny:

as long as you still have labor unions and craft associations as well as various fields of entertainment being the playground for extortion such as strip clubs..gambling spots...etc.

...mobsters will still be relevant

especially in new york with it's rogue construction laws along with the lucrative shipping and logistic industries (ports..trucking)

:mjcry: my time with the teamsters was the best of times and the worst of times
Imma need some stories

Imma need some stories

i got plenty ...

but the one that stood out was the time we had a strike that was nationally mandated by the Teamsters Union office led by Junior Hoffa...

yeah the son of "that hoffa"

all i remember is being a 19 year old UPS truck reloader being "told" that it was my duty to take my azz down to union hall and vote YES in for the validation of the strike...

at first i was like ..fukk yall and that hoe azz strike mane :rudy:

i was bout to turn 20 and celebrate the fact that i had just got my first apartment staying off campus and i had plans to get engaged to my girlfriend..

no kids..making decent bread...in college...i was living my BEST LIFE :blessed:

plus I NEEDED MY JOB!!!...I DIDN'T WANT NO DAMN STRIKE :mindblown:

so anyway i walk in the union hall...and i swear it was one of the gloomiest places i ever seen in my life

just a few old white guys walking around not saying shyt.....so ain't said shyt to them either...

i just wanted to vote NO and get it over with....ASKED where the ballot box was and the guy pointed to this corner where this big fat italian looking dude was sitting in a folding chair that looked like it was about to collapse

and i swear it was like i was frozen....this dude had like the biggest revolver i ever seen on his hip....and he POINTED to that box like

VOTE HERE

right then and there...i realized it was in my best intrests to VOTE YES :sadcam:

im glad i did...because when they held the strike the following monday...

man it was scary...they terrorized all the dudes who voted NO and went back to work in defiance of the STRIKE calling them "scabs"..."puzzies"..."sell outs'....

it was surreal...:picard:

then to come home and see footage of the strike on CNN with a still photo they showed constantly of Union president Junior Hoffa kicking the living shyt outta some random scab

all i could think of was ...WHAT IN THE WORLD HAVE I GOT MYSELF INTO?!?!? :why:

His downfall was going to McDonald's. Seriously.

Not once, in my entire life, have I seen a movie where a mobster went to eat at an American restaurant.

You're supposed to go to an Italian restaurant. Coulda easily gone for lasagna but the goons gave him angel hair, and I ain't talking pasta
