I just saw this while I was riding the M train back to my apartment. I know exactly where that is too. Brashear is all the way out in the South Hills, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh so I know the Western PA area well. Even though the first time I heard of Brashear was reading this thread.

Sad to say that this has been a regular occurence in this country since as far as I was in school, but there really aren't any details that I've read other than that the gunmen were shooting at the school from a hilltop. That's crazy. From what it sounds like, it seems like they had some somewhat high powered guns too.

Western PA...hell PA in general is realy gun crazy, backwards and violent. Pittsburgh might as well be West Virginia SR.There's been a good amount of shootings like this in the WEstern PA area for the past couple of years...but they rarely get media attention. Last year at Pitt during my graduating year we actually had over 100 bomb threats coming from nowhere at our campus on a daily basis

The moral of the story...Pittsburgh's BEEN f*cked up! But everyone else especially the city officials and old suits would like to still hang on to this ridiculous "most liveable city in America" label.

I went to Brashear my senior year, and my younger brother and all his friends went there as well. Crazy shyt. Never thought something like that would happen so close to home let alone there.

I remember when I went there we had metal detectors at the entrance that were never turned on.

I remember when the Hill and beltzhoover kids had an all out brawl by the guidence counselors office. Chairs thrown, staff injured. I was only there a year so that's the only crazy drama I ever saw.
