It’s funny how Sam Darnold was the THIRD pick, and was pretty mediocre and even showed regression to the point he was let go and ended up on two different teams before landing with a QB friendly team in Minnesota. He has one good season (year 7) and now everyone is salivating over him.

Justin Fields had a horrible rookie season, but his second season was better despite his record and not having a single offensive weapon of note. Third season was even better than that, and after being let go from the Bears, he starts 4-2 with the Steelers. All I know is he almost broke the QB rushing record in year 2, and he does have a good deep ball. So after 4 seasons, he can’t be given a chance at all?
One of the best runners of the football in the league with a legit deep ball but never had an offense built around his skillset ever. Damn shame

I was with you until the 2nd paragraph.

Trevor's arm isn't crazy at all, everything is floaty and inaccurate. He has poor throwing form and footwork in the pocket and he couldn't execute doug's vision. nikka damn near averaged 4 overthrown balls that should've been TDs a game. Christian kirk should've had a tyreek type year had half of those balls been catchable. That's why we had to resort to running, vs running with purpose, ala eagles and chiefs.

I think that O line play are a product of how well your QB can play, always have. There's a reason why brady didn't have a problem with his O lines, and it's not because the Pats drafted a lineman in the 1st every year..they often were able to make do with midround linemen and free agents. It's a mix of coaching and QB play, Trevor has no feel for the game. He let doug down, not the other way around.
Doug's vision was SOFT.... We couldn't convert 3rd and short at all because everything had to be tricky. He hesitated to emphasize getting playmakers the ball... it was always whatever the defense allows. The entire first half of the season people were asking and wondering why they were not getting Brian Thomas Jr. the ball. They waited until all the other receivers were hurt, THEN decided to dedicate plays to getting him the ball.

He religiously failed while going for it on 4th down.

And the team didnt display any resilience at all. We were just Soft... I like Doug, he was def an upgrade on what we had before and I dont think he was the biggest issue, but he was too predictable and created a soft Culture.

You're lines have to play well. The game is usually won and lost at the line of scrimmage...

Did you watch the Jags? He did not have that many overthrows. I think he had like 2 HORRIBLE games early in the season. other than that he was just "OK". Do you remember the game we had all 3 of our starting receivers drop an open TD pass? Gabe Davis dropped a deep pass, then dropped a TD pass all in one possession lol.

This is good and all but all this goes away if Trevor had any sort of accuracy and touch whatsoever..

Tomlin is a no-nonsense coach. Arod wants preferential treatment and people bowing down to him and his wishes.

Arod to Steelers would be an absolute disaster imo

That princess Rodgers effect.

If we are going to take another entitled cac back. Might as well take the question mark you can keep in check.

Not against either idea. I just think princess Rodgers is just an experience. If we go after Lawrence. We could get a replacement for big ben. Or, another Kenny.

If i saw what i thought i saw. I believe i saw. Kenny win a superbowl backing up Jalen in Philly ironically.

majority of the fans don’t want him because of his diva attitude, but tomlin ain’t letting him miss training came attend stoner retreats.

I also think if he comes in and dosent make the playoffs that could finally get tomlin his pink slip finally, you don’t think they should run it back with fields the full season?

Man.

If y'all do not stop with the beige tomczak cap.

Fields ain't on shyt.

We might as well deal with princess Rodgers. If you guys are so enchanted by Mike tomczak in beige, Justin fields

Hence. Beige tomczak being my nickname for both him and russ trash ass.

While T Law has been abysmal for us, theres very little upside for us in trading him. Should keep him as our ride or die for now, especially since we aren’t getting a franchise QB in return.

We also dont draft well, so picks arent of that much use in this scenario.
This sounds so depressing :lupe:

This doesn't say as much about Trevor Lawrence as it says about Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Some of us (certainly ME) had a ton of doubts about the Steelers' quarterback situation heading into last season and we were mostly called haters.
Well, I told you.

Pittsburgh cannot be a serious contender when they have two quarterbacks who cannot throw the football down the field reliably.
They won much of their games on the ground, and when that stalled, they had nothing.

The kids call this "exposed"

THE ONE THING BOTH OF
THOSE QBS CAN DO IS THROW
A GREAT DEEP BALL.

PITTSBURGH HAS NO OFFENSIVE WEAPONS AND LOVES TO INVEST
ALL OF THEIR MONEY INTO THE
DEFENSE WHO CONTINUES TO GET
SHREDDED IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Well,

If by offensive weapons you mean a quarterback, you're right.

The Steelers don't have a viable quarterback.

If we're listening to calls that means Cohen has a different vision at QB. Trade him and start fresh. He's got a top 4 contract but giving average QB play. Granted, a lot of it wasnt his fault. But the turnovers and missed throws that were his fault, happened way too regularly.

What parallels? I’m not gonna say Fields is better than Hurts because Hurts has had success and ultimately won it all. What I will say is Hurts has a WAY better offensive line than Fields ever had. Hurts receiving corps is better than the best receiver Fields had over his career. Then the Eagles got Saquon who’s WAY better than any running back Fields ever played with.

:picard: you're serious
