Worked for Matt Cassel as a backup AND product of a system from one season. Better to lock Kirk down for cheap.

The issue for me is opportunity. You can say RGIII fell off but that is immaterial. Your average, and I do mean average, white QB would have been given every opportunity to prove himself before he lost his job. They wouldn't have had his possible replacement drafted in the same year. Cousins, as a 4th round pick, got the benefit of the doubt over a 2nd overall pick with a record setting rookie year and playoff berth under his belt. He also got the chance to go through growing pains and struggle with no threat to his job as, once again, a 4th round draft pick. And then on top of that, they don't cut or trade RGII, they make the nikka a DB and pretty much act is if he doesn't exist. Somebody give the me precedent for this with a white QB that had a rookie year like RGIII.

I just don't get how you lose faith in a QB that took you to the playoffs his first year.

I am a die hard skins fan and like RG3 but...

1. When you have an issue playing a full season
2. When your game hasn't improved since your first year
3. When you seem to get lumped up with every hit now.
4. When you're owed $18mil for the last year of your contract even if you're hurt...

Yes I get the whole black thing and even partially agree with it (in defending each QB, Kirk def had more of a leash to run with, but we dont know what was going on behind the scenes)

I am rooting for RG3 he will do well somewhere else, but he HAS to get out of Washington unfortunately, it sucks to say this because I am a Skins fan but he would do well in Chips offence on the Eagles.

They can't...... because it doesn't happen with them... A solid season for a white QB is 10 years job security....

All of that would be fine if there was some consistency about it. We see mediocre, stagnant white QBs get by on potential or one big year forever (getting the feeling that Cousins will join that group over the next few years).

It doesn't matter what was going on behind the scenes. It's bullshyt, plain an simple. / at "the whole black thing" like it's some little, irrelevant thing. RGIII not only lost his job to an unproven guy but he is also being held hostage and humiliated. What behind the scenes reasoning can explain that?

Atleast now against better defenses he doesn't look like a back up quarterback the way he did at the start of the season. He can keep defenses on their heels now (somewhat).

The skins doing RGIII a favor. They're giving the next team he plays for a full year to recover from his injuries with no contact. If hes dedicated to his craft and profession and has any since of pride i can see him winning comeback player of the year.

RGIII will come back and have a good year while the deadskins will give kirk cousins big money and he"ll comeback for that inevitable letdown season like so many have before him in that fickle franchise(freroote, campbell, RGIII, brad johnson, not sure if i want to include Ramsey)

The dallas game was just two weeeks ago. He still struggles against good defenses
