Why wouldn't players want to play in London? It's like the 2nd biggest city in the western world. People play in places like Cleveland, Green bay, Detroit and shyt and they'll refuse to play in London . And scheduling, they'll just play in the evening as teams usually do and that will be during the day in the us, as usual. The only difference would be the taxes.

And the only problem will be the travel times, between 6-7 hours up east (Like La to NY, so that's no biggie) to about 10-11 hours out west.

The NBA made an excursion to Vancouver and there's a very famous example of a high draft pick refusing to play there, and they never signed a FA with options. The Toronto Raptors has also had trouble attracting FAs to play there. The Toronto Blue Jays generally haven't had the 'other' treatment the same way in baseball, but the Montreal Expos sure did. Playing in London compromises your domestic marketing capabilities greatly, in addition to uprooting your life to move to England. I'm sure there would be a gentlemens agreement between the league and the government there about letting players in that has criminal records, but what about friends and family with records? When you're a player with options, these things matter.

Bills played a Toronto game for a couple of years but had problems selling tickets to those games IIRC
