The NFL has reportedly committed to putting a franchise in London within six years, according to a report.

In the interim, the NFL will continue its annual series of London games.

There remains little indication which franchise it would be that moves to London, assuming the league doesn’t opt to simply expand. The Jacksonville Jaguars are widely linked, particularly since their own, Shahid Khan, also owns London-based soccer team Fulham.

The city of London has wanted a franchise for years, and the NFL wants to be there to make the league a truly global one. It seems to be only a matter of time now.

A London NFL team would be playing from a remarkable competitive disadvantage. From unique scheduling of their games out of necessity, to drafted players refusing to go play in England, to attracting free agents with options to come without drastic overpaying. You'd have to give London a higher salary cap from the beginning.

Imagine a team playing in London Sunday night them flying home to play a Thursday game. Someone will die on the field. Terrible idea logistically.

We just watched two cities lose teams they care about and you're planning to give another country a team? :beli:
