The entire United States was built off the backs of black people for 400+ years. Everything that is around now is thanks to free forced labor by Black Americans. Its time for the check to be cashed or that loan will remain unpaid. Trust that everything goes full circle, know what I mean?

People affected by Jim Crow still live today. People who are in jail for just being black still live today. Children being shot cold blood still died today. People who can not get a job because they are black, still live today. Thanks for trying.

The only folks that should get reparations in my opinion. Are people that were abused or grossly wronged (like the Japanese that were interned during WWII). Not their family members, not people that did not ACTUALLY suffer directly from the wrongdoing. When I say directly I do not mean some perceive trickled down affect by their distant cousin or great great grand kids.

this is not true. The only reason why jews are getting reparations (they don't deserve it) from the US government is because they have political and economic muscle, something that Black community does not have. You can "ask" the government to pay up (something Black Americans have been doing for decades) but they will give out anything.

And descendants of the slaves exist today. Slavery had a far longer lasting affect on black people than the Japanese camps had on the Japanese. Why weren't the freed slaves given any money?

In much of the north where companies and states were built and prospered during the 1700 -1900s and they didn't even have slaves. I know its just a small point but cmon stop acting like the United States would be Libya without black slaves.

If you don't understand the lasting effect and what happened for 70-80 years after slavery has had on the black community do not participate in this argument.

1. You're most likely a CAC (or a brainwashed non-black)
2. The way you speak about this demonstrates that you're wholly ignorant of both history and how the modern world works
3. Asking for what is owed to you/what was taken away from you is not a handout
4. If you are a CAC, its highly probably that your fam and you benefit from "handouts" your fam received years ago
5. Free labor under slavery was the ultimate "handout"...so CAC please
