I actually liked when Renee was on commentary on NXT. She was being herself. It's gotta be pretty tough with the old man in her ear all the time. Should make us all appreciate how good Corey Graves is. He was killin it from day one and is now the best commentator they have. Mauro is awesome too but he only does Takeovers now. Corey does Raw & Smackdown. That dude is a rockstar.

The marks are now in the ring AND the booth. Renee and Graves would’ve had a meltdown at the antics of say, 97/early 98 HBK (he stayed shooting on JR and breaking the fourth wall). The two would’ve also ruined so many classic moments that commentators were involved in (Austin/JR/Rock interview, Austin’s Road to WM 14, etc). They would’ve sat there like when Kane set Taker’s casket on fire at Royal Rumble 98

Hell, Cole had 1 of his 2 best calls back then when Foley won the belt on Raw (other was when the Streak was snapped). Cole was bad back then, but he at least TRIED, more than I can say for Renee

Renee is one of the best studio personalities I've seen recently. She's as good as Rachael Nichols or anyone else they have on ESPN. Charlie is good on First Take too.

She's not a wrestler though so she's miss casted here just so they can have a women commentator. But if they wanted that give her spot to Lita or Trish and let her do studio and backstage shyt.

His call when Eddie beat Brock for the title at No Way Out 04 was a classic imo, probably my favorite call of his and his best.

Hopefully they move her to the studio when they do the FS1 shows, she’s so much more comfortable in that role. I don’t know why they even have to have 3 man commentary teams anyway.

First, they need to stop being all in these guys’ ears, second, go back to the 2 man teams which in turn may eliminate some of that unnecessary banter.
