Just like humans sit at the top of the food chain, Jay-Z is perched on top of the Hip-Hop game with his crown and scepter. Almost every major happening in Hip-Hop the last 20 years can be traced back to Hov.
Remy Ma “Shethered” Nicki Minaj can be traced back to Jay-Z.
We all know that Birdman is currently keeping Lil’ Wayne in limbo over at Cash Money because of lawsuits, contract negotiations and bunch of other nonsense. (Birdman is the worst successful mogul in music history, if that makes any sense.) In 2015, Lil’ Wayne released FWA (Free Weezy Album) on Tidal, which is owned by Jay-Z. Birdman proceeded to take Tidal to court for a cool $50 million for violating the terms on Wayne’s contract.
Several months later and probably tens of millions of dollars later, the case was dismissed. Jay did not have to come up off a dime for Birdman. Behind the scenes, though, Hova gets down! He is a vengeful and ruthless businessman. He was probably plotting on his revenge. And now was the time to strike.
Fat Joe inked a deal with Roc Nation earlier this year. He and Remy Ma’s album Plata O Plomo sold 11,000 copies in its first week. Nicki Minaj took the opportunity to clown Remy Ma on Gucci Mane’s track “Make Love”. Hip-Hop is a game of chess and Hov made a supreme chess move. Jay-Z, knowing the long history the two ladies have (dating back to ‘07), could have “encouraged” Remy Ma to come back at Nicki, who is one of Birdman’s cash cows. If this beef affects Nicki even in the slightest way, he has just hit the pockets of his nemesis.
Am I on point or am I reaching?
