well any player is capable of adding a midrange jumper and i do think he can become a decent driver if he learns to go right instead just left. he's not totally hopeless.
Yeah but they have to show some sort of touch beforehand - which Randle is void of. And let's say for argument's sake that he does add a jumper (similar to Ibaka), what other value would he have? I mean he's never going to have any notable impact on defense to go with a limited offensive game. The most I see for him is a solid bench role.
y'all are willing to give okafor a chance on defense, so don't try saying there's no hope whatsoever for randle to improve. :mjpls:
The thing with Okafor is, he's ALWAYS going to be a threat on offense - even if he doesn't improve on the defensive end. Randle will be nothing more than an athletic Reggie Evans if things don't work out.

At least with Okafor the question was always effort.

Randle out there trying his bestest :skip:

you wouldn't rather have the guy trying his best and trying to improve than the guy not giving effort?

half the season isn't gone yet we gotta bury this guy. :mjcry:

what's wrong with a solid bench player? i'll take that if he can provide something in the second unit, it's better than nothing. i'm not pretending he has superstar potential or anything anymore, but i also don't think he should be written off completely.

once we get simmons everything will be all good.

They should've taken Noah. Randle can rebound his ass off but that's basically it. Noah might be dumb as shyt but at least all the tools are there.

How the fukk you in the NBA and can only drive with one hand? :francis: That's not a good sign. Especially with a whole year of NBA training.

Okafor is given a chance because he plays center, and Okafor has good length, especially compared to Julius -

Wingspan
Randle - 7'0"
Okafor - 7'5"

Standing reach
Okafor - 9'2.5"
Randle - 8'9.5"

Randle isn't overly quick laterally and he doesn't have exceptional length for his position.

Vonleh's :trash: and you know it. :beli:

Randle can actually drive with either hand, but he'll only shoot with his left. He probably can't even piss with his right hand. :francis:

Randle can actually use his right hand he's just not comfortable using it.

Look at his summer league highlights he used it and looked pretty good doing it too

The coaches have to get with him and drill him to death with only his right hand

Ulius Anle is a gag reel going right. Stop it.

And Vonleh isn't even straight trash... dude is probably dumb as fukk- but physically he's got every tool you'd want your PF/C rookie to have. Randle was drafted over by LA over Vonleh because the whole idea was that yal didn't want a project. In reality, Randle is the bigger project by far because he's got MASSIVE hurdles to overcome if he even wants to play consistent defense at his position. Let alone become as useful as Udonis Haslem on O.

Larry Nance is the better overall player right now, and probably into the future.

He's a fukking NBA player :what:"he's just not comfortable" ??? he's just not GOOD with his right hand at all. Dude had a year around NBA trainers and staff and he dribbles like that football player trying to hoop at the Y

talking about summer league :dahell: Summer League don't mean shyt.

Vonleh is utter dogshyt, just stop. Almost every other Laker fan hates me because I'm driving the Nance hype train and think they should trade Randle ASAP because Nance is clearly the better player.

Randle's a 6th man, but he has some talent. He definitely needs to be refined a lot, but I'd still take him over Vonleh any day.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with him being a solid bench player, but I'm sure you're aware of what other Lakers fans have been hyping him up to be. Just take a look at this thread for instance.

Could Randle really be a solid bench player for a winning team? I'm not sure his style of play is conducive to consistent & winning football. I thought the game would've slowed down for him by now but he's still playing his same out-of-control, head-down & bulldoze your way to the rim way.

It's obvious he has heart which is an admirable trait but I don't see the skillset of a good-great NBA player. He doesn't have the touch or finesse of Okafor, he lacks Porzingis shooting range, he definitely isn't going to be a Draymond/Odom point forward & he's a net negative defender at the moment.

Maybe I'm hating because his game is so ugly at the moment but unlike D'Angelo who's going to be a stud & Clarkson who will at least become a 6th man "instant offense" guard I don't see Randle in the Lakers' long term plans. :manny:

I don't watch college basketball but did Randle dominate with this ugly style of basketball there? Just seeing him in the NBA, I don't know how he even got drafted.
