Lots of folks here brag about their 6 figure, 6 IT certs. Could have easily used that knowledge to counteract incel hackers.
I remember that shyt. The main page changed to something with slaves and “my chain hangs low…” or something like that.
as a young nikka that shyt was scary. I didn’t know what hackers were or what they were capable of. I remember legit feeling like my life was in danger if I logged in to SOHH
I was dumb as fukk
It's phishing. Some posters account's got compromised, they (the "hackers") would post from the posters account. For instance, they take over your account and started posting links to fake threads using your name. The poster would click the link, get prompted for their login and it would usually error out. It's all fake and now the hacker's have your login.I still don't understand how they got people to do that though. Like how did The fake website appear instead of the real one
the type of shyt you see in diaspora war threadsI was a lurker during the sohh days but i looked it up lol

I remember that ether.
This is the story. There were/are a group of hackers, that will remain nameless, that go around the internet targeting people for various reasons.
One dude on sohh started talking shyt about them (I forget his name). Many posters warned him and the mods that these hackers take insults serious and would retaliate once if they found out. Mods ignored the pleads and dude kept talking shyt. Someone alerted them on another site and a few days later, weird posters started popping up on the site creating threads with links that lead you nowhere.
Little did we know that this was some type of phishing technique they used to get user passwords. The real fukkery began when they got hold of an admin account and started messing with the front page. To send a message they are not to be fukked with, the hackers started to attack AHH and a few other forums. shyt was nuts. Every online hip-hop community site was like"are we next?". Posters ran and scattered to smaller website on some "is it safe to come out now
" shyt. Eventually the police had to step in an straighten things out. After the massacre, things were never the same. A lot of people lost their account, didn't want to sign-up again or moved on to other social networking sites.
