Remember when Jericho beat HHH for the title on Raw in 2000?

Definitely remember watching this live. I was heated when the switched the title and fired Henner. But it did lead to one of the better moments during that era when Hebner replaced Shane during that Backlash main event.

I think Triple H felt that Jericho wasnt over enough to be part of the mainevent. The same way he never understood the hype of RVD.

Funny how he was right on both occasions.

Jericho wasn't ready to be an actual, top guy on the show, focus of the show, 6 month reign champ guy until his 08 heel run. He was still cutting goofball promos that got pops but didn't really sell the match at that time. He's actually much better at that now even if hes physically Larry now..

They gave him the belt in 2001. And that's not just because of HHH, his stuff with Austin and Rock wasn't great either. Giving Jrricho the belt for more than a month in 2000 wouldn't have made sense.

I restarted 00 a few years ago and was at how juvenile and terrible his promos were.
