I remember that, was in middle school. I went out and copped the Nas is Like cd single. Had like 6 songs on it:

Nas is Like (Dirty)
Nas is Like (Clean)
Nas is Like (Instrumental)
Dr. Knockboot (Dirty)
Dr. Knockboot (Clean)
Dr. Knockboot (Instumental)

I would put that Nas is Like instumental on replay while doing homework.

Over time it's become one of my favorite Nas songs.

I remember it being played on the radio a ridiculous amount of times, and being mad hyped about it!

Nas has done this a few times with his singles. "Hate Me Now" and the buzz around that was just as crazy! '99 was kinda like when all of this stopped for him though. He never seemed able to keep the momentum going. Even after "Ether", he got everybody back with him, only to fizzle out yet again right after that.

I never get what's up with dude's career.

"Nas is like" is the art of rap taken to its fullest potential, its one of the greatest rap songs of all time
