Religious folks what's your stance on ..

I`m spiritual, was raised a JW and truly believe the word they're speaking, with a few slight alterations here and there. So here's my takes

Pre-marital sex - I think there is a lot of merit in it and it could honestly be a good idea, but it's not realistic. Due to the fact that so many people get divorced and almost all had sex before marriage who knows. If you only know one sexual partner, you have less of a chance to roam, which is best for marriages.

Clubbing- No problems here. I did a lot of partying in my days, I see the foolishness of it now, but there's nothing wrong with going out for a few drinks and dancing or whatever.

Smoking/drinking- Drinking has been around since the dawn of time. Smoking, while I don't really find the huge fault in it, goes against the idea of body is my temple and is too addictive to give a pass in my eyes.

Tattoos- Ehh,never got the big deal on these, except for possibly in biblical times heathens were tattoo'd and that's why they're shunned.

Cursing- Cursing is really just a crutch most of the time so it isn't needed, you can express yourself in better ways. But sometimes a curse word sums up something very well

Masturbation I don't get what's wrong with, aside from it usually leads to lusting for others then you're wife, I can't condemn it though

Homosexuality- I got no problem with gay folks

Pork- It is an outdated idea that pork is unclean. Bacon is delicious but I don't eat pork chops

Tattoos - I have yet to really get a straight answer on it; but, at this time, it falls under one of those, not-bad-but-not-good

Cursing - Words cut like swords and you shouldn't use your tongue to harm your brother/sister

Masturbation - Sodomy; Sexual deprivation...I'm not even sure non-reproductive sex is permissible according to the Bible

Homosexuality - This is becoming more of a "We don't wanna be mean to a group of people" thing more than anything. It's wrong, but, I'm not goin' act like there's levels of sin and it's anymore sin than stealing. But, even, in a secular sense; it's just hedonism. You love another man without sexual intercourse.

But, I don't hate the people, who are homosexual. I'm not doin' it and I'll keep it that way.

Pork - From my understanding; that was just about the ceremonial law of the Old Testament--like circumcision. It's not meant to be law of the land post Crucifixion. It was more specific instruction to a group of people. Like, Onan was ordered to impregnate his brother's window and disobeyed and was punished. I don't think that means we are all suppose to impregnate our step sister when our brothers die before them.

This is my main problem with religion. It makes you feel self conscious and guilty about stuff that you shouldnt

I'm not trying to get into a debate, but, the whole point of religion is that there is a higher plane of existence than the life we live now. It would make no sense to have a doctrine of "livin' it up," if the message is preparing for the afterlife.

I see all those things as not bad in moderation. Except for homosexuality which I don't give a fukk about. I have my own theory on why people hate gays and don't really see the issue as long as it isn't advertised and shouted all over the place like it's being done now.

If God really cares if I cuss, jack off, or have sex then I don't know if that is an all knowing being, that understands humans mentally and biologically.

The reason why we're told not to do those things is because they can potentially ruin your life if it gets out of hand. Drinking for example, you let that get out of control and watch the road your life goes down. Same thing with having sex with a bunch of people, you might end up getting a girl pregnant or even worse catching aids.

All those things have a good reason for not doing it constantly. At the same time though this universe is so vast and intricate I seriously doubt our silly traditions, rules, and restrictions matter or that a heaven or hell exist. It's all waves breh.


As far as pork, you have to look at the context of when those scriptures were written.

Sometimes we tend to curse and use bad language when we're mad, it's a human emotion but a we should try to use good language and avoid offending others.

Masturbation is forbiden, however we as humans do have strong sexual urges and it's only allowed if its gonna restrain you from committing pre-marital sex.
