Lol at eagles cowboys being above cowboys redskins and cowboys niners(whom I personally hate the most). The eagles are not our biggest divisional rival whatsoever.
I dont even care about the TV rating, I just made this thread to point out the stupid NFL Network top 10 list of rivalries they had a few weeks ago. They didnt list Redskins/Cowboys because "it hasnt been important for some time," yet had Steelers/Raiders number one.
Is this an all time list or just in the last 15-20 years?
This is a rivalry?
Regardless, its a terrible list
Didnt even know the Steelers/Raiders was a rivalry, Cincy/Browns<---dont nobody outside of ohio care about this, Jets/Patriots<----at what point in history would this ever be a top 5 rivalry
if your top three nfl rivalries doesnt include in some form of the following:
Skins/Cowboys
Packers/Bears
Steelers vs Ravens/Cowboys
Cowboys/49ers
Giants/Cowboys
Then that list is
indeedSteelers/Raiders is an old school rivalry. It was up there in the 70s. Hasn't been much since though.
The Redskins have the largest fanbase in the league
Some people really have no idea how big the Redskins fanbase, literally at one point the whole Southeast was Redskins territory.
sheeeidYup. Carolina didnt become a team until 1995 so from south carolina on up to MD probably had a large Skins fanbase. A friend of mine goes to school in Boston and he said there's a decent number of Skins fans around there as well apparently has to do with them originally being the Boston Braves/Redskins before they moved to Washington in the late 30's
How many great games can anyone remember between Steelers/Raiders? I'll give you the immaculate reception, but what else?
dont get it twisted, I know the history, but to say The Steelers/Raiders should make it because of those games but then ignore the Redskins/Cowboys games which had a lot at stake as well (2 NFC title games and countless "division title games"). THe list is bullshyt.I think when people talk about the Steelers/Raiders 70's rivalry it's more about what was usually at stake when they met. 5 playoff meetings in the 70's. 2 in the divisional round. 3 AFC championships were decided between the two with the winner going on to win the super bowl. George Atkinson delivering a midfield blindside clothesline to Swann for no reason numerous dirty hits. Chuck Noll's criminal element comment. Atkinson suing Noll for said comment
Football hate is a beautiful thing
