Most native americans don't care about this issue or don't find it offensive at all.

Its mainly white liberals and black commentators pushing the issue for yrs.

Like removing Aunt Jemima from pancake syrup.
:yeshrug:
Not the majority because they are making money off the brand but the small minority of native americans who are not in the pocket of white people are definitely seeing the name as offensive so even if there was a few it would definitely need to be changed

Its offensive.

Imagine little Timmy asking his uncle, what's a redskin. And his uncle tells him, well that's what they call Native Americans bc of the color of their skin. Little Timmy grows up now thinking it's ok to view ppl a certain way.

TYRONE GA!
Is Washington Indians not acceptable? Just remove the face from the logo too and keep the spear and shyt. Is that not a good compromise?

are you native?

It’s funny as hell to see people say what is and isn’t offensive when stuff doesn’t pertain to them

Bro the president of what’s equivalent to the Native American NAACP was the one who helped picked the logo for the team, there’s high schools on Native American reserves with the same mascot name

It’s not as cut and dry as it seems I promise you

I heard it was the leader of the biggest Native American organization that approved the name and logo.

Also the majority of Native Americans in polls do not find the name or logo offensive. Some see it as ethnic pride.

All I’m sayin is bra native Americans aren’t the ones really applying pressure with this shyt, it’s white commentators for the most part this seem like some “here nikka, damn” shyt but just to the natives instead of black people

sad part is the owner is Jewish. You know damn well he wouldn't let some anti-semetic shyt slide. :mjpls:
Right.
He’d be all up in arms if a team were to be named The Jews with a caricatured Jewish person as the logo.
And rightfully so.
No different than his team’s logo/name.

Those polls are skewed and that leader is compromised . I’ve personally talked with a few natives who are disgusted by the name and want it changed .

A couple from a tribe out west and one from a tribe on the East .

When you speak about Natives , you’re talking about a group that’s damn near been beat into submission . Anytime a see Native activists, I doubly salute them because it’s takes a lot to shake off all the bullshyt they’ve endured to challenge the establishment, especially when you’re damn near EXTINCT.
