Red was a huge influence on both BIG and Pac. If I'm not mistaken he was the Source magazines artist of the year and rookie of the year in 92. I still have the first Source issue he was on the cover of. Your favorite MC's favorite MC.

people always talk about RAW GRIMEY mcees...but overlook REDMAN

his lifestyle was grimey even AFTER the deal

remember the APARTMENT he showed on MTV CRIBS...

ha ha wires hanging out the doorbell :russ:

That was right around my job at the time. Red used to be at one of the gyms I went to. I was surprised that I'm taller than him. Cool dude though.

This is when Redman was Redman!!

I remember being a kid and copping the single to "Blow Your Mind" on cassette, because the album was taking forever to drop. Redman had always been my favorite emcee through his first 4 LP's. When I heard him on EPMD's "Business as Usual", that made me a fan instantly!

No one was better at that raw shyt, than he was. That whole era was dope! I dig how DJ Twinz is rocking the backpack in the video. Me and my friends used to try to emulate that shyt back then. Just have on backpacks for no reason, no school or nothing! LOL!! Red just embodied what hardcore Hip Hop was back then. I miss that vibe, it's what made Hip Hop so dope to me as a kid.

Straight 90's sh*t right there! LOL!!

So many soundmen were getting stomped out back then. If you f*cked up, that was it for you.
