Classic?
Just say it's underrated bruh.
Come on...it's not nearly as good as Doc's Da Name.
You are surprised that one of the biggest commercial superstars album gets more promo in a city in which he sells out arenas in a second than a dude like Redman? AG sold half of what BP3 and KC sold, had nothing to do with quality, it was hits and anticipation. Most of Jays marketing comes from his own endorsements too not labels.
And I don't recall Redman or Roots being mad, the Roots were Jays band at his shows during the time.
LL was mad, went gold under Jay and never had a song chart again, acting like it was Jay-z he was just done and mad that a dude who used to look up to him snatched his label, goat title and became his boss.
Red Gone Wild was top 5 album in 2007
The Cool,Made, American Gangster, big doe rehab, Red Gone Wild >>>> finding forever, return of the mac,
compared to 1998 Docs Da Name aint even cracking top 10
Moment Of Truth, Aquemini, Miseducation, Vol 2. Its Dark and Hell is hot...Thats 5 already. And people will mention Capital Punishment, 400 Degrees, Mama Drama, Rhthymlism, Dj Clues Professional, Flesh of my flesh, NORE and 2pacs greatest hits (thats 8) before mentioning Docs Da Name
That's not a sound argument at all.
The albums across the board in 1998 were better than 2007. Doc's Da Name has more competition than Red Gone Wild.
But in my opinion, DDN is top 10 for 1998 anyway so...
That's like saying Cuban Linx II (best album of 2009 for example) is better than E.1999 Eternal (MAYBE a top 10 album of 1995) because it finished first in a different year. Makes no sense.
