first time playing on the PS5…I remember how many folks were complaining about how slow this game felt in the first chapter re: how the character felt when moving around

a) I forgot how cinematic this game looks/feels

b) I forgot how much dutch runs his fukking mouth

I just remembered that at some point in the game I found out about a gold bar glitch…I ended up with so much gold that it low key “ruined” the game for me bcuz I was able to buy everything without needing to do any side missions so as I result I just no-lifed the main story and beat it in about 2 days so I could get ready for the online component which was gonna drop soon at the time…online turned out to be such a disappointment…always regretted rushing thru the campaign
Why would you have to rush the campaign just to play online?

I didn’t anticipate the campaign being that good (again I hadn’t played RDR at the time)…I thought it was gonna be like GTA where I didn’t find the campaign to be all that interesting but was fully into the online component…so I started the RDR2 campaign just to kill time until they released the online game (which was my primary interest)…as fate would have it tho, the campaign ended up being goated (especially the chapters after you find out about arthur’s condition…that one part where you help that tribe was like something straight out of a fukking classic western flick)…on the other hand, the online component was a fukking messy letdown…I didn’t know that’d be the case, so as much fun as I ended up having with the campaign despite rushing thru it, I was still more excited about playing online at the time

I’m enjoying the opening story a lot more this time…maybe that’s bcuz I know where it’s going…but the very first time I played it, I found the first 2-3 chapters to be boring…the environment looks great on the OLED TV too…my only complaint which is not a major one is the character movement…but this has been the case for a while now with R*…but there’s a lack of fluidity when it comes to the way characters move in their games when walking/running…it can be frustrating at times

Chapter 3 to Chapter 5 is just non-stop fukkery once it starts. :wow: I've played through 3 times so far and each time I figured out new shyt I should have been doing from the jump. There's a free iphone app called "RDR2 Map" I would highly recommend. Found tons of shyt to loot early on so I could upgrade my guns.

is it the official companion app?

I used that early on during my first playthrough

It says it's unofficial but I was mainly using it for lootboxes :blessed: About midway through chapter 3 (maybe even earlier), money will be irrelevant because you have so much of it but I like to upgrade my shyt early on

bytch ass micah…I remember hating his character immediately…would eventually come to find out I had good reason :pacspit:
Never hated a fictional character more than Micah in ANY medium. The end fight scene when Arthur is sick, and because you’re sick, you can’t win, and he keeps calling you “black lung.” :pacspit:

@surf the side missions are worth doing, especially some of the characters you end up meeting because of it. The random events, coming across the nightfolk :lupe:, coming across the KKK and handling that how you see fit :demonic:

I did some…I vaguely remember the KKK…can’t remember if I saw the nightfolk…I did see a creepy family but they attacked me on the road during the daytime tho so I don’t think that’s the nightfolk

there’s something about your character dying of tuberculosis where you can see how sick he literally is and I’ll still be a complete piece of shyt and murder a random rancher and their entire livestock with a machete just because I’m bored.
I said it after the game but I'll say it again: I played through as a complete prick and I felt like a real piece of shyt when the bad ending hit. :wow:

stunned by how gorgeous the snowy environment looks…I get now why folks say this game doesn’t really need to be updated for next gen consoles…hunting is so peaceful…just in general I find myself enjoying taking my time with the game so far…I’m not rushing thru the dialogue, tasks, etc.
