How much time did you have to put into this game for it to get good?

I got to the first train heist and made it to camp. I wondered for a bit looking for things to do and couldn’t get into. I might be 3-4 hours in. I struggled with the lack of direction starting out. I feel the game opened up too soon. GTA V seemed a little more linear in the beginning before leaving me to my own.

I bought this day one and want to revisit. How long did it take y’all to get the ball rolling?

y‘all gotta understand that Dan is the whole reason why we got RDR 2 in the first place. nobody else was that press to make it. It’s not a surprise that Rockstar has neglected it once he left the company because in their eyes the series isn’t as profitable as GTA even though it sold millions.

things didn’t get rolling for me til the end of chapter 3…by that point I got used to the gameplay, got better AND the story picked up a lot as well…I feel that with gaming tho it shouldn’t take fukking hours of initial character/world building and to be introduced to gaming mechanics…they’re getting carried away with looking to provide a “cinematic” experience…anyway I’m about to rant…ultimately I’m glad I did put the time in early on after almost bailing on it…the rest of the game is incredible once you get the hang of it and the story really progresses…I’ll tell you what nikkas told me—after making it to the end of chapter 3, if you still feel like things haven’t kicked off yet and you’re still struggling with the gameplay then the game might not be for you…and I say that in no type of way…everybody don’t gotta be crazy and ecstatic about every “blockbuster” game

it’s been years since I played the game (I need to revisit it…I beat the game about a day or two before the online component dropped)…I think it was a combination of me getting used to the controls plus gaining more skills/abilities as I progressed

Started another play through. That song at the end of chapter 1 when you headed to horseshoe overlook. This might have replaced the The Witcher 3 as my GOAT.
