I loved found footage movies. I don't get what people mean by its played out. It's just another way to tell a story like using an outside narrator or first person narrator POV. You can't really play out a POV approach to story telling. You can execute it poorly though. Biggest pet peeve is when the characters are filming things they wouldn't or couldn't be in the sitaution they're in or when the director forgets they supposed to be doing a found footage movie and shoots something the character has no access to.
