He was already fit. He said it just kinda broke up sitting down all day. He would alternate between his "sit down" desk and the "bike" desk throughout the day. Like when he was doing boring, monotonous work, he'd get on his bike desk, but when he was writing a report or something he used his sit down desk. He said the bike desk just kinda helped with the monotony. It probably helped him physically, but he never cited that as a reason to use it.
