Essential Recent Pick Ups: Arcadium Edition

After 7 long years, I finally replaced my old ass Motorola SB5101 modem

Before:

(Very generous, it only averaged 3 MB/s when I actually downloaded and upload was 630 kb/s at most)

Now:

(It's actually 8 MB/s for download and upload is damn near 1 MB/s)

From 33MBps to 60+

After doing some actual downloading and upload, I only download at 6.5MB/s and upload at 800kb/s max.

That's still much faster than it was yesterday though

I have the same modem. I had my motorola SB5100 for 10+ years. finally had to upgrade last year. anyways, that modem only cost me like $37 on amazon, so I got a great deal on that.

Hope you got a good deal. That is a 8 down 4 up (343 Mbps) modem. They make 16 down 4 up (686 Mbps) modems and 32 down 8 up (1.4 Gbps) modems now. My ISP only allows up to the 16 down 4 up modem or else I would have got the 32 down 8 up one.

I only have Cox's Preferred package which is only supposed to give speeds up to 50Mbps, so buying a stronger modem would've been a waste of money.

Besides, the SB6183 and the new SB6190 don't even come in black yet

Bought it and

reminds me ALOT of bastion but waaay goofier. It pretends to be Sci-fi B-movie that got rereleased for modern audiences and the director is doing commentary over the entire thing. Dudes a giant a$$hole and its great. It has some amazing animations (it fakes stop motion claymation with some enemies and it looks great) and a surprisingly big world with alot of verticality. Not gonna be surprised when it ends up one of my favorite games of the year, dont sleep on it brehs. Really high concept and interesting.

Picked up Dragon's Crown for PS3

Me, too. Wanting to start get a video game night going with some friends. Looked like a fun co-op and I had a feeling the price on that one might skyrocket.

Also ordered Transformers Devastation and Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark on PS3 tonight.
