Been enjoying it so far but haven't really pushed it to hard. RDR2 seems to run decently on it but PoE2 was struggling even with lower graphic settings. Not a huge fan of Windows on a handheld so at some point I'll probably install Linux on it but overall its been a solid device.
What’s this, a ROG Ally? :jbhmm:

If so, the regular or the higher priced? :jbhmm:

And what’s PoE2? :dwillhuh:

Yeah a ROG Ally. Bestbuy had the regular Z1 Extreme version on sale for 450 so I one. I have a gaming PC already but after staring at a screen for 9-10 hours for work, its hard to force myself to do that to play a game. I don't have much time for gaming already so the Ally makes it a little easier for me to play something when I do have some down time.

PoE2 is Path of Exile 2. Haven't had much time to play it lately but been loving what I've played so far. Too bad it doesn't run too well on the Ally.

Did y’all get the protection? :jbhmm:

Best Buy got 1 yr for $60, 2 yr for $99, 3 yr for $170 :ehh:

Also, do y’all mess with Retroid Pocket 5? Would y’all recommend that for emulating games from PS3 gen and prior? :jbhmm:

I didn't cause Bestbuy protection is usually trash for most things imo. I was specifically looking for something that would allow me to play PC games without being at my PC so a Retroid Pocket 5 and similar handheld were not an option for me. I can still do emulation on the Ally if I choose.

Yea I was thinking bout getting the SD :ehh:

I spoke to a few brehs here who seem knowledgeable and the general consensus seemed to be the base model SD>>base model ROG Ally (both retail for $400). But the higher model ROG Ally like the X and Z1 Extreme>>any SD :ehh:

Good arguments were made for both and I dunno what to get :dwillhuh:

I was gone wait till SD go on sale again but I might just cop this ROG Ally Z1 Extreme for $450 :ehh:

I like having Steam games as an option but I mainly plan on using it for emulation of older games up to PS2 gen maybe PS3 and trying to figure out which is better for that :jbhmm:

Yeah if it's just for emulation, I probably would have just went with something cheaper.

You can’t play Steam games on the ROG right? :jbhmm:

Yes and games from other platforms like Game Pass, Epic and GOG. I've only tried Steam and Game Pass and both have worked pretty well. Streamed about 2-3 hours of Lies of P from Game Pass and didn't have any issues.

Got the new ultimate controller from 8bitdo. I have 2 of the original ultimates as well but these are supposed to be nice so I copped one. My others have the switch layout because we use them on that with pc. I got this one with the Xbox layout since most pc games are already formatted for that.

I just sold my Apple Watch Series 9 GPS for $160 and bought the Series 9 Cellular for $240 at Walmart on clearance. This was last week off Slickdeals so it's probably sold out now. A cellular Apple Watch is a game changer. I can leave my phone at home and hit up the gym and my Hevy app can still track my workouts, my Spotify works on the witch with no phone needed. Still get all my text and stuff. When I'm using my Android I don't have to turn on call forwarding and tether.
