Here's a list of 110 ranked TV shows for the 94-95 season and it shows where 8 current shows would rank, which is amazing in itself. But just look at these shows and reminisce.

This is in the 18-49 demo and it's crazy how some of these shows got cancelled due to low ratings and then compare it with the shows that are on now and "thriving" Also, Steve Harvey's first show, Me and the Boys, got cancelled even though it was a top 20 show and had better numbers than its lead-in show, Full House:mjpls:

Watching your fav show back in the 90's was a weekly event. You knew everyone who watched it was watching live, so you knew there would be big discussion the next day at school or at the water cooler. Now theres so many programs and channels, it's hard for everyone to be on the same page. And even those that watch the same shows all watch them at different times.

Yeah most definitely. I just miss the shows lol. Although I can't speak for the dramas from that era because I wasn't watching anything heavy but a lot of the shows I watched are all on that list at least in the top 50 and of course I watched the Wayans Bros. We had less splintered viewing but live sporting events still do well because it's live and people want to be in the moment and not miss it. Boy Meets World and Family Matters were powerful on that chart tho

There was no DVR back then and you couldnt download an episode you missed. So you either saw the show the one time it aired or you had to wait until it aired in reruns (and some shows didnt run reruns unless it hit syndication). Everyone stopped what they were doing to watch TV live. Recording shyt with a VCR was a hassle.

Especially when you're the only one in the house who knows how to program it at age 8

Same shyt over here. If a game ran long and fukked up the timing of the tv shows my mom would blame me for her shyt not recording right. So i started setting the vcr to record shyt an hour longer than it should. Some days she wouldnt even have a tape in there or didnt rewind it enough for it to record a new episode.

Im like as a 9 year old why am i the only one who can set the VCR, are you fit to raise me?

That feeling you got when you set a show to record while you were gone only to come home and realize you didn't rewind the tape/put the tape in/set the wrong time/tape speed/etc and you we're fukked. :snoop:You had to be on point with setting those VHS players. I remember if the tab on the VHS tape was removed it wouldn't record so we had to stick pieces of folded paper in it to bypass that shyt.

:whoo:Those were the days yo.
