what I don't understand about these kinda dudes is, if the government and big money interests are already screwing us out in the open, why do they need to cling to marginal conspiracies? Big agriculture is already fukking your food up. That's public information. Why not worry about that? lol

I think a big part of it is that people have a very simplistic conception of how power works. They can't deal with the actual messiness and complexity of these situations, so any grand narrative that ties it all together (which must necessarily be a conspiracy theory in order to do that) seems comforting, in a way.
