“Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” is ending its run on HBO after 29 years

Was it Gumbel’s call or David Zaslav?

They gave us classic interviews like when Bernie Goldberg interviewed Mike Tyson and Tyson told him he had to leave because of questions over his daughter. Powerful stuff.
I think they had a great piece on Nick Buoniconti years ago, too.

I mean there are lots of great stories they did.

Hate to be that guy, but didn't know it was still on lol
It lost a lot of promotion because...well, they seemingly didn't promote it much in recent years.

But also, since people aren't watching HBO for boxing anymore, and since HBO shows have been largely lackluster since Game of Thrones ended, you just don't spend as much time watching HBO to notice their sports programming.

Frankly with this SAG strike, I forgot John Oliver was even alive.

Ah yes. I forgot for a second I'm on the coli, where the predominant playbook is the one borrowed from republicans and contrarians and "free thinkers" who just disagree with you and tell YOU to look up their arguments for them.

:francis:
You're looking it up for yourself. You're the misinformed one, not me. :hubie:

I don't know.

What's the last HBO sports documentary they did?
I'm sure they did one on Magic and Bird.
And Magic and Isiah too. But those have to be several years old.

The thing is I may be confusing some HBO docs with PBS docs. Like the Muhammad Ali ones.
