like how at first J Cole haters were saying that Jay didn't fukk with him, and now that he has 2 consecutive gold albums they say he wouldn't be here without the Jay co-sign.... :russ:
There used to be a bunch of threads making fun of the fact that they don't have pictures together, that Cole didn't get a Jay verse until the last minute and that Jay didn't know Cole existed, but now after two gold albums, two plat singles, a couple gold singles, all credit goes to Jay :wtf:

I'm saying, tho ... it should have gotten old by now. If I don't like a rapper, I won't talk about him. Simple as that.

And I don't like J. Cole either, but I don't post about the boy :manny:

boring or not Cole is one of the few rappers out in today's market actually trying to be a RAPPER, as in have punches, metaphors, song themes, letting the lyrics speak for themselves.

He and Kendrick are two sides of the same coin, the purist and the avant-garde.

i dont listen to jcole cause of jay z

i listen to j cole because the warm up was a classic project
You need to be aware of something existing in order to listen to it. Without the exposure he gets from a jay-z co sign he's m.c anonymous random soundclick rapper again.

First you're wrong about the serperation of Elzhi and Cole.... for one Elzhi doesn't put out material consistently enough for him to blow. Elmatic came out in 2011, nikka hasn't dropped a project since. Secondly so you're so adamant about Jay giving him a career, you know how many nikkas jay tried to put on? Where are they? Bleek never blew, Bleek was given way more exposure by Jay than Cole could even imagine... explain that. It's because nikkas didn't fukk with Bleek like that to the point where they would go out and buy his shyt. There is a difference, people fukk with Cole.

Also... I never said anything about Jay stans...

i hate how you nikkas assume shyt

just say speak for yaself

stop trying to speak for the world

everyone i know was drawn to J. Cole becase of his story, he could rap and he was a true musician

i remember downloading his tape and going crazy at how dope that shyt was

it had nothing to do with Jay-Z

i was interested in new music and his shyt came up....

i listened to it going to my aunt house and was blown away by this song

it wasnt anything like i heard before. the stroy tellin was Nas reminiscent

Do you remember downloading 'The Come Up' when it dropped? No? Thought so. Point proven.

Slum Village came out in the wrong era. Timing my man. Elzhi is a little younger & gets the Hov co sign right before The preface drops, many more people check out Hovs new prodigy, boom Elzhi has J coles 09 buzz.

Wrong, What song off The Preface even has the ability to go national? Forget all that, even if you are right. The average hip hop fan doesn't have the patience to wait for an Elzhi project. So even if he got that kind of buzz, there was nothing he could do with it because his releases are so spread out.How many XXL rookies get a buzz and then completely fall off the map because they dont release enough material? Blu for instance, he got a buzz and did nothing with it. The Buzz isn't what makes you sell, it's what you do after it that builds a fanbase. After Cole got his buzz he dropped Warm Up, Friday Night Lights, was jumping on features. When he dropped his first album that solidified his fan base. Jay did nothing to help that beside make you aware of him. Everything after that is on the artist himself. Cole could have easily took that exposure and lost it, but he didn't
