i love being right
saw it tonight and actually thought it was soft, compared to what i went in expecting.
Thought it was gonna be south park uncut types of fukkery.
Yeah I kinda agree here. A co-worker of mine that saw it on Thursday night was talking about it to me and how he was antsy about having his 13-year old son watch it (he didn't see it with him, but initially planned on it, tho his son is going with his friend and his father to see it, to which my co-worker is now more nervous about it seeing it, lol smh) and convince another co-worker to not take her 10/11 year old son to see it. I did a double date with my homie, his girl and my lady and also paid for my 15-year old niece and her friend to watch it with us at the IMAX, reserved seats so that they weren't even in the same row as us with no qualms about it and quite frankly, I would've still been very meh in regards to being antsy about her seeing it at 12-13, cuz I know I seen worse at that age and know she has as well. My thoughts about that as a parent to child relationship with her going in was confirmed afterwards in that the only "issue" I foresaw happening was that she would've felt more embarrassed and such watching it around us than we unto her, to which was essentially rectified with us sitting in different rows/area of the theater. And for a boy's dad POV on it being too much for his high school bound next year 13 year old, I thought was some soft shyt (he is somewhat trying to be "religious" or whatever tho
), lol. If anything, most of the "profane/obscene" shyt was just implications, context, language and violence, which are kinda so-so to me towards an adolescent child, especially in today's world (albeit, there does seem to be some counter, pussification movement in America going on incognito and simultaneously not so low-key as well). A kid in double digit age range to me, this movie aint' too harsh for really. The scenes of sex/nudity were raunchy only in implied talk and mostly to comedic fashion rather than real and intimate enough to be feeling some kind of way to it and the nudity was extremely slight. Maybe it's just the black in me, versus him being hispanic and our other co-worker being white.
