He also noted Johns said, "we can't have an angry Black man at the center of the movie," which allegedly prompted Warner Bros. to reduce the roles of all characters of color -- something he touched on in October 2020.
I wonder how soon before ATT cans Geoff Johns?
Buffy actress Michelle Trachtenberg claims Joss Whedon was 'not allowed in a room alone with her' during filming when she was 15 - days after co-star Charisma Carpenter blasted him as 'toxic and cruel'
Michelle Trachtenberg shockingly claims Joss Whedon was not allowed in room alone with her on Buffy | Daily Mail Online
- Trachtenberg, 35, was just 14 when she was cast as Buffy's sister in 2000
- She added the shocking statement to an Instagram post from Wednesday in which she'd shared a statement from Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar
- Gellar appeared to be supportive of co-star Charisma Carpenter who called the show's creator Joss Whedon 'toxic' and 'cruel' in a Twitter post on Wednesday
- The actress, who portrayed Cordelia Chase in the drama for four years, claimed Whedon called her fat and fired her after she got pregnant in 2003
- Gellar, 43, posted: 'While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don't want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon, ' she wrote
- Gellar added: 'I stand with all survivors of abuse and am proud of them for speaking out'
- Whedon, 56, has yet to respond to the allegations of misconduct
Ray Fisher Opens Up About 'Justice League,' Joss Whedon and Warners: "I Don't Believe Some of These People Are Fit for Leadership"
It's a long read but WB execs, Whedon and Geoff Johns really don't come out looking good at all.
I really don't see how Johns survives this much bad press and keeps his high ranking gig at WB. Especially not when he has his people releasing tone deaf statements like this:
Several sources who spoke to Fisher around this time were willing to talk to a Warners investigator. Among them was writer Nadria Tucker, who tweeted Feb. 24: "I haven't spoken to Geoff Johns since the day on Krypton when he tried to tell me what is and is not a Black thing." Tucker tells THR that Johns objected when a Black female character's hairstyle was changed in scenes that took place on different days. "I said Black women, we tend to change our hair frequently. It's not weird, it's a Black thing," she says. "And he said, 'No, it's not.' "
Johns' spokesperson says: "What were standard continuity notes for a scene are being spun in a way that are not only personally offensive to Geoff, but to the people that know who he is, know the work he's done and know the life he lives, as Geoff has personally seen firsthand the painful effects of racial stereotypes concerning hair and other cultural stereotypes, having been married to a Black woman who he was with for a decade and with his second wife, who is Asian American, as well as his son who is mixed race."
You never go to the "I was married to/dated a black person" line when being accused of racial insensitivity.
