Raw, SmackDown And NXT To Resume Live Tapings From WWE Performance Center

POSTED BY: RYAN SATIN APRIL 10, 2020

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Raw, Friday Night SmackDown and NXT will once again resume taping their shows live from the Performance Center starting next week.

Sources tell us the decision to go back to doing the shows live was made on Friday after filming 205 Live and Friday Night SmackDown. No word on what influenced the decision.

It’s worth noting the Governor of Florida issued a 30-day “stay-at-home” order this month to limit the spread of coronavirus. The mandate allows supermarkets, clinics, banks, pharmacies and other daily necessities to stay open. People are also allowed to exercise outside while staying six-feet apart, according to the order, as long as it’s in groups of less than 10 people.

As you’ll recall, WWE started filming at the Performance Center last month due to the coronavirus pandemic. They’ve since gone on record talking about the many precautions they’re going through to limit the possible spread of the virus at the tapings, which included filming in pre-taped batches.

WWE has also already started promoting their Money in the Bank event set to take place on May 10. That show will seemingly take place from the PC as well.

Lost the XFL, have Wrestlemania look like a 3rd grade play rehearsal (still good tho), and now having to deal with the government putting a boot up ya ass. Cokeboy out here doing his best Scarface impression:francis:

The possible reason for the change comes down to WWE's contracts with NBC Universal and FOX, both allow for a certain amount of taped shows during the year. If WWE goes over that amount?for RAW, the number is three episodes a year?there's concern that FOX and NBC have grounds to change up the deals. WWE has already cancelled of its live events in April, and postponed its European tour in early May, leaving TV revenue as a main source of income. WWE's next PPV, Money in the Bank, is also no longer taking place at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.

Why can't they just do a hybrid then? Most backstage segments were usually taped beforehand anyway.

I’m surprised WWE isn’t getting pushback for this. Dana White been getting shyt on daily for trying to do UFC events to the point ESPN/Disney had to intervene and tell him to chill.

WWE always gets away with any public fallout. They really live in their own bubble lol.

I imagine not every superstar is thrilled about this but 90% will show up every week like the good soldiers they are.

Crazy to think back in 2019, WWE was making money out the ass. Now a year later they are putting on empty arena shows just make profit. God humbled Vinny Mac something serious :wow:

And they gonna be there Monday, Wednesday, and Friday like the good soldiers they are.

Sasha prob tweeting out another “Thank you Vince” tweet right now.

These are the same workers who shiver whenever a pundit brings up a union to them. Some of these wrestlers will come down with the disease and won’t even announce it publicly because they don’t want to make Vince upset lol.
